Hey there everyone, I've been doing my research and read about every thread I can regarding the halo-lifts full kit (if this would be better posted in the level section please let me know).

I'm looking to do a full coilovers, rears and blocks kit to replace the stock shocks and the over-strut block and 3" rear blocks that a previous owner did to my truck. Currently rides quite rough and skips a bit over some highway bumps (Boston roads are trash) so it seems that the halo-lifts Boss kit would give me the best ride quality and although I would start at about 2" of lift I would consider 3" with new UCAs in the future.

I was hoping that any of you who have done the boss kit could weigh in, or if you have any better options I'm open to suggestions! Currently running 285/70 17s on stock wheels but with 10mm spacers due to tire rub on UCAs (I think I have about 3" of lift in the front from the blocks making the angles up front less than ideal). Thanks!

May be too late to the party here, but I just installed the Halo coilovers and rear shocks on my truck.  I’ll give you my thoughts if you haven’t pulled the trigger yet.  I absolutely love it.  Rides so much better.   No more bouncing or skipping.  I set mine at 2”, with one spacer on the bottom for a total of 2.5” lift in the front.  Also replaced the factory UCAs with Cognitos.  I’m running 275/70/18s with no rub anywhere, so I can’t attest to what it will do with 17s, but I’d bet you’ll be fine.  The install was as easy as you can get.  Simple remove and replace.  Their product is awesome you will not be disappointed. Also, the customer support and service with these guys cannot be beat.  Best I’ve ever worked with. I have since put in a MotoFab 1” rear block and I personally like the stance.  Don’t have a pic with the rear blocks installed though.  2019 Limited.  Before/After:

I'm on the fence on these.

I guess if you really want a better ride and not a lot of lift , they are the ticket at a price though.

If all you want is a 2" lift for a little bigger tire and are happy with the factory ride then just go with a decent level kit.

I hear what you’re saying.  Trouble is, most level kits just give you spacers, and keep all the other factory components, except shocks.   What I did know was that the Boss springs gave me a 700lb. spring rate which is a bit heavier than factory and that was a must have for me.  Factory springs were way too soft I thought.  So I wanted to improve my ride and not go too high as you stated with the lift, and I won’t go any larger with the tires than what I have already.  Plus, they are adjustable while on the truck as opposed to having to remove them, compress the springs, disassemble, adjust, reassemble, reinstall.  A lot of work if you wanted a small change.  Bottom line is, I agree with you.  IF you like the factory ride and aren’t afraid of just spacers to achieve lift, then go with a leveling kit.  If you’re like I was and wanted an improved ride (less bounce, more planted), and a wanted to level your truck out some, then I think these are hard to beat.  They are a bit pricier than some of the kits out there, but their overall ride quality and ease of adjustment was worth it for me.   They also use a longer, heavier spring to lift which I liked better than spacers alone.

Have you ridden in a truck with bilstiens by chance? I'm wondering how they compare. I found one review on the site that resembles the ride bils give.

I wish I could help you, but I haven’t.  I was considering these for a while as well, along with the Eibach pro truck kit, but I ruled out the Bilsteins because 1) no new springs and 2) no more than 1.85” of lift and that’s on the top setting.  Some say it gets stiff all the way up, but some say it’s fine.  So who knows, but either way, I wanted at minimum 2”.  Ruled out the Eibach kit because 1) their spring are even heavier than the Halo springs from what I’ve read , and 2) all of the work involved as stated above.  I will say that the Halo springs are made by Eibach though, so I’m guessing they worked a deal to have softer springs made for them?  Not 100% on that one.  IIRC someone said the Eibach pro truck kit springs were in the 800lb range.  Too much I thought.  It might be possible to buy that exact spring that Halolifts uses directly from Eibach, but I didn’t research that.

looking to raise the truck a little more then it currently sits and hoping someone can give some ideas on what to get.

2016 double cab with bilstein 5100 all around set to the highest on the front. with nitto ridge grapplers 295/55/20 and 20x10 -19 wheels I had to take off the gator back mud flaps up front as it rubbed awful so I did that , did a quick half assed "norcal" and I only rub in reverse full lock on a bump. so everythings pretty much good as it sits however im getting annoyed with the amount of crap flung all over the truck so I ordered some fender flares off amazon, and id like to get the mudlfaps back on to prevent snow build up on my running boards. looking at the duraflap ones as that lifted kit bracket they have looks pretty good for rubbing issues.

not sure how much higher I need to go on the truck if at all to help alleviate rubbing issues with mud flaps installed but I would also if possible keep my existing bilstein shocks

would a 2.5"-3" spacer level kit work with some new upper control arms to help with the angles be pretty much all I need ? I don't take the truck off-roading and I don't need the best of the best just the most cost effective way to do this properly

thanks!

Please help. My knowledge on lifts is very limited. Would you recommend a 4.5 inch lift or a 6 inch lift for mine? I have Bilstein 5100s on it, would I be able to keep them?

What size tires do you want to run? I went with a zone 6.5 and ran my Bilstein for it. I just recently upgraded to a 8.5 lift and now running Fox full coilovers with reservoirs. Before going to 8.5 lift.

Looks great!

i have 275/70r18 K02s on mine.

rides like a slug considering I have the 3.08 gears. You didn’t have to change out your rear shocks for the 6.5 lift? I didn’t think the Bilsteins would be long enough

Not sure if this is the correct place to post or not but I’ve read through a lot of this thread and haven’t seen anything related to my question. For you guys running 35 in tires what engine and gears do you have? I have 33’s but really want 35’s I just don’t wanna put too much stress on the tranny. I have a 2017 Silverado LT Z71 5.3 with 3.42 gears. Will 35’s be too much?
