We played around with it a ton last night. Verified my bulb and ballast are good. Friend had a bulb and ballast that were also good. Neither would run in my driver's side. At most we would get a flicker, maybe a second or two, then the plug off factory bulb would lose power. The factory halogen bulb still worked fine however.

So taking with the light shop, they suggested a resistor to trick the truck into thinking it's still a halogen. Ordered that. I also ordered the relays and capacitor just in case.

I'm sure that the relay will get it working. Just sucks you have to use that. I have sold hundreds of 35 Hylux systems and not had an issue. The 45 watt Hylux is different and it sometimes needs a harness.

I really like these fogs, but don't like that its not a lower K level which is better for fog.

True on the color rating. That's why some guys go with the yellow laminx but I hate the way they look with that on.

I am intending to buy a set of 35 w hids from ddm tuning. I've been talking to them and cant seem to get a straight answer. I will be buying the canbus 35w system they have. Will I need the dual relay harness in conjunction with the canbus system or can the canbus hid kit be stand alone? Thanks in advance for your help.

I have used ddm on all my trucks never had an issue on my 2015 projectors I used there 35 watt  can bus system and never had an issue I did have the relay harness  but never wired it in

yes. Its a protective covering. Can get it in several colours, yellow, smoke, amber, clear, etc. I have amber on my fogs. https://www.lamin-x.com/

Hi all,

New to the forums and new 2015 Silverado LT owner as February 18.

That said, I’ve read probably the last 20 pages of this thread and about 4 other side threads on HID retros/baking lights. I’ve got the standard reflectors in my truck want to put upgrade to some HIDs.

I think I’ve come to the conclusion that I will be getting a TRS universal kit and modding my factory lights. Originally, I would’ve opted for some aftermarket lights and a retro morimoto upgrade, but my pockets aren’t quite that deep currently.

So, all of that to ask: has anyone installed the universal kit on their 14+ Silverado with pictures?
1. Just want to make sure they fit
2. Wouldn’t mind seeing the final.

Thanks!

Get the Morimoto D2S 4.0 Projectors, 5500k d2h bulbs, Hylux ballast (35 watt), high beam splitters, butyl sealant and I recommend the E55 R shrouds. If you message me I can get you setup with 10% off of that stuff, unless you have a deal somewhere else.
You are going to need to bake the lights open in order to do all this. You will need to bore out the bulb opening to accommodate the shaft of the d2s projectors. The hardest part will be baking it open if you are a permaseal virgin. Lol. If you have done it before then it shouldn't be too bad.

Hey FastWS6TA,

I would prefer to order through you if that’s an option; Sounds like it will be. My only hesitation, and hence ordering from TRS, was if the projector housing was threaded for the “universal” install versus the ones that are a true retrofit, like in your video.

As you mentioned it all seems pretty straightforward with the exception of the lens removal. I’ll make sure to pick a day I’ll have plenty of coffee and extra patience available!

It's a threaded shaft so it will mount in your LT lights. Just message me and I can get you setup :)
