Installed mine yesterday. Also 3/4" difference. Looks much better!

 

my thoughts exactly. i figured if i did the .5 spacer to make it 2.5" up front, id then have to do a bigger block in the rear. all to essentially gain .5" overall. instead i bought the 1.5" BL which effects nothing. super happy with just the 3/4" rake

On the 16+ trucks it doesn't go on top anymore. Two seperate part numbers now, and I've even called rough country to verify that. Stamped arms (16+) now get the spacer on top of coilspring, not on top of the strut top mount.

 

 

The spacer on the 16+ does not go at the top of the coil spring when disassembled. It goes at the bottom. I just did this on my 17 sierra. I still don't see how it lifts anything tho, as it's more or less for preload( tightens the coil up) I guess? But yeah it goes at the bottom when installed

They might be referring the 1/4 or 1/2in spacer that goes atop the coilspring assembly.

If it's the spacer from the RC 2.5 kit for the 16+ stamped steel lca's it's a round collar that goes at the bottom of the coil.

This is a new-ish variation. When I ordered my kit last fall the only variations were length of bolts for the lower strut blocks (cast vs steel). All of the spacers went on the top of the strut/coil assembly. I don't recall if these trucks have progressive spring rates or static. A spacer in the lower coil might make the ride harder.

 

I never did the spacer. I didn't like the cv angles, even if the popular vote said it's acceptable.

I have 2017 Midnight, I just installed the ProComp 2.25" level kit on, I realize this is a common question, however, I am looking for a definitive answer, how big can I go with tires (stock 18" wheels) with out having to trim anything? Thanks for the input.

285/65R18 (32.6") or 275/70R18 (33.2"). Others will chime in, but I'm going for safe here.

So, I leveled my old '07 GMT-900 before I added my 6" BDS lift. Back in '09 I did the 2" RC leveling kit and added 305/50/20 Cooper Zeon LTZs with new wheels. I'm thinking about going with the same setup for my '14 Silverado CC. What do you guys think about that?

Depends on wheel offset. If you are doing a 20x10 with negative offset I would do 285/55 or 305/50, if 20x9 with positive offset I would do 295/55 or 33x12.50

I use 275/65-20 on +15 wheels. No rubbing.

MO92's advice is pretty spot on. Additionally the options given with positive offset wheels will fill out the wheel wells more. Some have even done 295/60/20 or 305/55/20 tires with a 2.5 inch level kit on OE wheels or aftermarket with positive offset. YMMV

285/65R18 (32.6") or 275/70R18 (33.2"). Others will chime in, but I'm going for safe here.

 

Perfect advise for no clearance issues. The 285 will be a little shorter (but a little wider)...better look IMO.

 

295/65r18 will fit also and depending on the truck, might scrub a little, but nothing to worry about. Problem is that for A/T tires, you're option is just about only the GY Duratrac.

 

Some people are running 295/70r18 but the biggest issue is rub on UCA and Swaybar when turning. You need about 1/2" spacer with stock rims to effectively run this tire and possibly trim or tie-strap back some carpet. This size tire is better left for 4" of lift and 0 offset rims.

So have you tried searching to get the answer of this common question? The definitive answer is out there with more info than you will get in here.

I think it is your truck and if you like it then do it. Personally I would stay away from 20's and go with a better tire (not that Cooper is bad just that tire tries to be a sports/at tire) that does not start with KO but again it is all what you like.

I had BFG KO2s on my old truck, they're a great tire. Just really not needed in the setup I'm gonna do. Pretty heavy too.

 

So, I may do Nitto Terra Grapplers G2 or Coopers. Really can't decide. I was thinking about these wheels. What y'all think?

    • More is cylinder deactivation. Kia-Hyundai Ive had 4. The warranty is the same 10 years 100K miles. My grandson drives the first one 05 Elantra GT. My wife drives the second one 2011 Genesis. The Genesis still performs as new and looks great. The Elantra looks rough. He’s not kind to it. The third was a Genesis coup. The fourth was a Santa Fe. Those were my daily drivers. I don’t keep them long. Kia is the same as Hyundai with the same warranty. I looked at the K-4 today. Too small, otherwise pretty good buy. Most of Hyundai and Kia’s have a performance upgrade.

    • Great question. Answer....depends. One the volume of the crankcase, the driver that will actually be using the vehicle and the amount it uses plus the distance expected for that next trip. Couple of for instances:   Wife is going to drive Dizzy to Moline and back plus a bit around town so say 500 miles on the day. I know from years with that SUV that around town and local rural it uses about a quart in 1250 miles. But on the Interstate and her at the wheel without her anchor nagging her she'll push it and it will drop a quart in about 800 miles. Hence, around town I wait to somewhere between a quarter down to a quart down. On her trip I'd top it if it was down a few ounces and hope for the best.    Have I overfilled one? You mean by adding before it needs a full quart I assume. No, not once after finding the true fill mark.  I know the dipsticks of everything I drive and add what it needs. I learn this by doing the first oil change a quart low. Run the motor for a few minutes. Let it sit over night. Check and mark. Then add half a cup at a time making note of the place on the stick. I add through the dipstick tube with a barbeque basting bottle. Give it a few minutes to drain down and check again.    A vehicle like Dizzy that uses this much oil will take a few quarts between 3K changes. I keep one in the vehicle with the bottle and a bag. (Mindful of it's fullness) Not a big deal and never makes a mess of it. There is no such thing as "multiple quarts' in my shop for any specific oil. There will be a maximum however of the number of different oils used over the fleet.     Dizzy holds a nominal 5 quarts. So the first fill was indeed over as it actually took 4.75. My vehicles are fit with Valvomax valves so I can meter an ounce on the drain if need be. Found her mark first crack at it. Never to be repeated.    Pepper uses none between changes so I don't keep a quart in that one. Straight up 6 quarts put her dead on the full line. Check it ever fuel stop. They will surprise you when they start using.    Raven holds 3 liters or 5.44 ounces over three quarts. I add 3 quarts and 6 ounces. That gives me 5 oil changes on my orphan quart.    Lawnmower holds about 3/5 of a quart. I don't over fill it to prevent an orphan. So yea, depends. 
    • 185k on original 6.2L engine and 10 speed. 6" lift with 35" tires. Changed oil (Mobil 1 synthetic) when truck told me to. Original tranny with original fluid and no service or flush done. All highway miles. A/C compressor replaced at 155k. Oil cooler line replaced at 180k. Still daily driver. Love this truck.   This is my 3rd 6.2L vehicle (2008 Yukon Denali / 2018 Cadillac Escalade) with over 150k miles and no issues. Denali had broken motor mount at 100k.
