Everyone I know running the old KOs get 60K if they rotate. Don't know about the KO2s though.

 

What tire are you running that's superior?

My coworker has 60k on his e rated ko2's and you wouldn't know it. They still look near new (I don't want to over embellish... yes-They have a price point but in between being quiet on the freeway, superior snow traction, off road capable. They are tried and true as a well versed tire.

This is my second set of KO2s (different trucks). Excellent tread wear and comfortable ride considering the aggressive tread. I definitely wouldn't have bought this new set if they were anything short of exceptional!

To each their own... but to say 'despite their tiny sizes'? Dude, are you series? My truck came with 265/65 18, I put on 285/65 18... not sure where you are looking at tire sizes, but where income from the bfg's are larger... and the exact tire size I wanted...so you can have your opinion...but, at least support it by logic and facts... or not, but I'm done talking about this topic with you. I said "despite their tiny sizes" because their tires run a bit smaller than other brands. BFG KO2 285/65/18 measure 32.4x11.4 whereas other brands like Nitto, Falken, or Toyo run about 32.6-32.7x11.6. So there is your "logic and facts". Also, if you go to BFG site directly, and read the specific owner reviews of the KO2 tire, you will see many mixed opinions and reviews, along with many saying that by the 25k mark, the tires were seeing some serious wear. And yes, I am aware what size tires came stock on your truck....comparing the minivan-sized tires they put on these trucks from the dealer to aftermarket all terrains is apples to oranges. This is a forum, where opinions are shared and reviews aren't always biased for a specific brand.

 

I will repeat myself, since you clearly misread the tone of my post. I don't care to argue, nor was I saying you had small tires (but you sure did get defensive lol). I was just sharing what I had heard about the tires, and what I have personally seen out of truly used sets of KO2s. I also wasnt saying they were bad tires at all, as I almost pulled the trigger on a set myself. But to get aggravated by me sharing my opinion after initially sharing your own is a bit ridiculous. Your opinion was that they were the highest rated (which you didnt back up with "fact or logic"), and multiple journalists, experts, websites, and forums disagree with you and have multiple different tires as their "highest rated".

Since you asked, I am running the new Falken Wildpeak A/T3W's. And to be honest, I dont know if they are superior. What I do know, is they are significantly cheaper (about -$400 total) and run very quiet, along with having a very similar design to the KO2s. You would be hard pressed to find a user that has seen over 30k on those tires, so I am hoping they run well. But for the price, I couldnt say no.

 

Guys, I am not saying your tires are shit. In fact, I really like the tire. Like I said, I almost bought a set. But, I have a close friend that does the fleet maintenance for Virginia DOT trucks, and has repeatedly said that the KO2s they run on them are meticulously maintained, and still show significant wear at the 25-30k marks. So I was sharing that opinion. For future reference, now I know that if you arent on the BFG KO2 bandwagon, you better not post lol

 

But to say they are the "highest rated" is just as much an opinion as me saying they are way overpriced in reference to their performance against other brands. If I were to pick the tire I thought to be superior, without regard for price, I would choose the Toyo AT2. It is almost impossible to find a bad review about them, and I have personally seen them go nearly 70k miles with life left.

I went with readylift 2.5. Ready great reviews on them. No issues since place on my truck. 35k with 33x12.50x20 on MTs

Good evening Gentleman. Long time lurker, first time poster. I bought my 2016 LT CC in June of 2016. I'm currently stuck between a 2.25" procomp leveling kit or the 4" procomp lift. I'm looking at running at 20x10 -24 offset wheel on 33s. Not sure of a tire yet. Does anyone know if this will rub? I'm okay with trimming the front valance some but really not comfortable with the idea of metal trimming. If I need to go down to a 20x9 0 offset without having too many issues so be it. I'm willing to compromise...to an extent lol. Thanks ahead of time!

Good evening Gentleman. Long time lurker, first time poster. I bought my 2016 LT CC in June of 2016. I'm currently stuck between a 2.25" procomp leveling kit or the 4" procomp lift. I'm looking at running at 20x10 -24 offset wheel on 33s. Not sure of a tire yet. Does anyone know if this will rub? I'm okay with trimming the front valance some but really not comfortable with the idea of metal trimming. If I need to go down to a 20x9 0 offset without having too many issues so be it. W/ a 10" wide wheel and a -24 offset, on 33's you will most likely rub on the plastic piece of the fender trim. All depends on what type of tire too....M/T, A/T?

 

I honestly do not have a solid answer as I am still researching all of this as well. customwheeloffset.com also has a gallery where you can look at all kinds of set ups and whether or not they rub. Take it with a grain of salt though because I personally feel people lie on there a lot.

 

But, this thread and forum have been very truthful and real when it comes to this. Go ahead in this thread, at the top right and search for "20X10" within this thread. You will see some questions/answers in regards to what you are looking for. Let us know what you decide to go with.

I think with a 2.5" leveling and some trimming you'll be ok

I've checked custom offsets and yes, I do agree that I feel some people lie. I will check with a local 4 wheel parts around me and see what they think as well. I'm leaning toward an A/T tire since I'm stuck in SoCal for another 1.5 years I doubt I'll find much use out of anything more than that. I'm also thinking about maybe dropping to an 18x10 (I'd have to double check if the offset is the same or different as I don't remember off the top of my head) and dropping to maybe slightly smaller tire to try and get the right clearances.

I already posted in Wheel / Tire thread but I figured I'd post it up here as well. Fuel Trophy wheels 17x8.5" -6mm offset and Tires are Falken Wildpeak AT3W 285/70R17 ( 33x11.5" ). I also installed a Rough Country 2" leveling kit. There was slight rubbing on front drivers side at full lock in revers. I used a zip tie to pull back the inside corner of the mud flap and now there is no rubbing at all.

Hey Everybody!

 

New owner here and I've been reading post for a couple of months or so and I have become more confused than enlightened. I am stoked to have so much experience and knowledge available, but have become overwhelmed.

 

I hate to jump to simply asking a question that has probably been answered dozens of times in this forum, but here I go.

I recently bought a LTZ-Z71. I would like to level the truck without compromising my warranty and minimizing any loss of factory ride. I do have a basic understanding of the options based off of reading from this forum. 350 pages on one topic is too much though, and I was hoping someone who knows this subject well could simply break down the options. I am mechanically inclined and have a shop available to use, so labor cost or installation procedures are not my concern.

I put big ko2 285/65 on my stock black rims, 18"...love them...

Tough to say exactly because I did several mods (that can impact mpgs) right around the same time...but what I can talk you is I drive mostly highway, 70-75, don't get too crazy and I get 19-20 usually.

 

Here are all the mods that could have an effect on mileage: new number, delete resonator, delete flapper, added magnaflow muffler, front level kit, tonneau cover...
