No this is just one of the quotes I got from another dealership in my area so I had a few options. My dealership is a big store not one of these ma and Pop stores... I'm not going to post my actual quote.. Don't care if no one believes that I got 10k off.. Think it matters how big the dealership is and where you live.. Didn't go through supplier I went to Cosco not sure what kind of discount they get. don't like it too bad and quit crying over the price i got.

Costco=Supplier price and a $500 cash card from Costco, this deal was only through Jan 2. You had to turn in a certificate with an Authorization number and pin (supplier authorization the dealer runs). If anyone's experience was different from this it would be valuable to hear about it so others might gain from it. No one is crying over your price, just trying to help others buying here.

yeah no need to be mad. You paid what you paid, that's all that matters. Location matters on price....my price here in Colorado will most likely not be as competitive as someone in Texas.

You got a great deal. My local dealer wouldn't budge from Supplier's pricing minus rebate on the Costco buyers program. In fact they told me I had to pay a $150 special program fee plus $499 dealer processing fee. I told them to pound sand which caused me to go out of state.

On a spearate note, I think a lot of these quoted OTD prices are a bit convuluted. For one, it seems several claim their trade in as money off the total price when in reality, it should be figured as a down payment, not a discount. Also hard to factor in TTL, when many States make the buyer pay those items outside of the dealership.

I was looking at my dealers website today and noticed that they have my 2009 Sierra tradein on their used lot asking $29,466.00. My 2014 was MSRP $51,843.00 (I thought it was $50,575.00 but saw the total after I relooked at the paperwork) I purchased on January 17th with 10 miles on the odometer they showed my tradein value at $24,300.00 on the paperwork and I wrote a check for $21,300.00 which included Taxes/Tags Title and License fees so $45,600.00 OUT THE DOOR (plus I took my Trifecta cover off my old truck). I think the Taxes on there was around $1,732.00 on the $21,300.00 amount that I paid cash and maybe 500 for other stuff tags etc.. So if you take $45,600.00 total paid OUT THE DOOR and take off $2,232.00 taxes and stuff that equals $43,368.00 total paid without taxes etc. which is $8,477.00 off the MSRP. One thing about trading in a high value vehicle is that it does save the tax on the tradein amount so if I had actually written a check for the full amount it would have been around 1900 more in taxes on top of the total. It would have been impossible for me to get $24,300.00 (trade allowance) plus $1,900.00 (taxes) total $26,200.00 out of my old truck in a private sale (plus the huge hassle) besides I only gave 29k for it in 2011 when I bought it used with 25k on odometer the original MSRP on it in 2009 was $45,920.00. If you are on a tight budget I would suggest waiting 2 or 3 years and pick up a nice used one for a huge discount. If you want a new truck though you should be able to get a healthy discount off the MSRP sticker. It does take a lot of due diligence and a strong disposition to work out a good deal though no doubt. I hope this info helps someone. I am sure that different regions will have different pricing constraints so you may not be able to duplicate this in your neck of the woods, I still think that if I had waited a few more weeks I could have got a bit more off (Buyers Remorse I guess) my HIGH end number was 20k difference so I overspent by $1,300.00 so hard times are a coming for me, NO BEER or CIGS for a few months here haha. Good Luck and Happy Hunting.

P.S I think what really convinced me to do this deal on a GMC was that the local FORD dealer would not negotiate like the GMC dealer, it made my choice really easy............................. Just say no to Found On Road Dead / Fix Or Repair Daily LOL I do not regret my decision and this Sierra truck makes me smile every morning when I walk out and start it up happy happy happy. GIT U 1

GMC sierra 2wd Crew cab SLE, with navigation, bucket seats, heated seats, etc. I traded a 2010 tacoma and they gave me 22.5 for it, and I got the truck for 39,200 OTD. 36 something before tax and license. Maybe something to do with california, but not thinking I got as good a deal as I thought

No big deal even if you did not get the best price. If you like the truck, have no problems with it and enjoy it, that's what matters most. As you get older, you get wiser. And finally you may come to a conclusion that paying cash for your car/truck and keeping it for quite a while is the way to go. I have done it for at least 10 years now and was able to save quite a bit of money, so I can buy a new truck/car with cash any time I want.

Hi Guys,

New member here looking for some advice, had a 2011 Silvy, thought I did ok at the time about 10k off with GM 2k. Beating up local dealers in area on 6.2's

The dealer I bought the 2011 is matching a Minnesota dealer that was near 10k off. Here is their offer. I got the private offer deal through the chevy website, you have to try to build the truck, back click, I am sure its been mentioned before, we also have the autoshow here, so that's 500 off is in this price, I also mentioned I was a member of Credit Union, I do have GM family members but I don't have that in this deal, NO TRADE, I am keeping my other vehicle. I beat them up on the price, BEFORE mentioning my GM Card fillup to 4k. Do you think I can get it under 40k? This is a 2014 high country crew 4wd.

MSRP: $57,335

Your Price :$47,702.79

Additional Private Offer: $1,000

Your New Price: $46,702.79 + T/P

Dealer has just told me that my GM Card doesn't combine, so 11k off, not good enough, why they even send me the fillup then pull the other incentives when I earned them is beyond me, no deal.

Not likely. It is great deal as is considering how much they already knocked off the MSRP. But then, it never hurts to try.

I was probably dreaming that the GM Card was going to combine with the other pricing, they lost my sale, time to look back at the Ram where I get 10k off without the games, makes me wonder why I even have a GM Card at this point.

The bottom line was my deal was about 750 better than anyone walking in off the street with NO GM CARD fillup to 4k, makes me question having the card and also that I was at 11k off a 57k truck, when the last deal was 10k off a 36k truck (2011) add to the fact GM raised the prices on the trucks by a lot after they said they wouldn't raise the price, makes it hard to ignore.

Colorado Sales tax was 7.63 added another 3,600 back to my end price. I bought my truck in Arkansas but the dealer would only give me $17K on my 2007 Tacoma....they had a lot of Tacoma's as trade ins. I was able to sell my Tacoma locally for $21K but had to pay the full value of taxes....ughhhh!!

Posted

Yup that is why it can be an advantage to use a tradein IF they actually give you a good number on your trade in. You have to calculate out the advantages and disadvantages as a tradein is NOT a Down Payment because of the Tax consequences. Fascinating to me how many people just buy according to what their monthly payment will be, talking about bending over and asking it for it.

Makes the car and truck salesmen drool no doubt. I guess some car and truck buyers have more important things to think about anyway like who stayed in the competition on the island and who moved on to the next round in american idol etc LOL.

Things are looking up, glad to see great deals are to be had, went to a local dealer that said he could trade for the one I was interested in and the price was about $2k less than the dealer that had it, not sure how much I can do on this as they have to trade to get it? No trade, dealer fee is around 150 for docs I think, I pay 6 percent sales tax in my state as well.
