The iphone 6 according to GM isn't even compatible. The iphone 5 is.

Mine does too, by according to GM it isn't "officially" supported.

Ok... I am updating my previous "views" on this... I did some testing.

In order for this to work, you MUST have your iPhone configured to show notifications on the lock screen for the Messages app. If you turn that off, it will not work. I generally don't use screen notifications - sounds only - for additional security on the phone.

I don't believe any of the phones are "supported". They merely test them for specific levels of compatibility and haven't done that with MOST newer phones. It takes about the lifecycle of the phone before it ends up on the list.

I plugged a usb hard drive full of movies into the usb slot in the center console. On the front screen, the system will play mp4 movies but doesnt recognize any avi movies. Does anyone happen to know if the system will play movies in any format other than mp4?

Anyone? What about jpegs? Would love to be able to take a SD card out of a game camera and view them on the 8" screen.

The GMC.com states Music/pictures but I took a small 512MB flash drive with a few pictures on it and the truck opens the drive fine and even sees the folder but say no data. That makes me think that it won't work for viewing pictures. The pics were JPEG. Would be cool to view game camera pics though.

From Page 27 of my 2014 Intellilink manual:

"Viewing photos is supported on the rear seat infotainment SD card reader"

I dont have a rear seat entertainment system and I am not able to display *.jpg photos on the front screen.

Your opinion. I just don't happen to agree. In fact, you said it yourself..."to each his own". Tapatalk via iPhone 5s

I run Mobil 1 Extended to 15k miles......The 5.3 Silverado I just traded in had nearly 215k miles on it with 15k oil changes...I had a Toyota Camry with 340k miles on it with 15k changes and zero oil consumption....When I got rid of the Silverado, it would be down about 1/2 quart at each 15k oil change, but it lived a tough life. The 3k "standard" is no more, technology in manufacturing and lubrication has come a long ways...

I like how the head rests ratchet fore and aft...

I gave mine a pull and nothing happened, does it only come with a certain trim level or ?

From OM:

On some models, the head restraints adjust forward and rearward. To adjust the head restraint forward, grasp the head restraint and pull forward to the desired locking position.

To adjust the head restraint rearward, grasp the head restraint and pull forward fully until the mechanism releases and allows the head restraint to return to the full rear position
