Flapper is on the outlet of the muffler. It's a square little box on a shaft. There is a spring inside the square part to snap the valve shut when there is low or no flow.

I realized I know nothing about modern exhausts. I guess the good old days of the pre-70s c10 are long gone. Crawling under my truck made it real. The 'flapper' thing I thought would be easy to locate. I was wrong. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong spots. Someone make this easier please!! I was going to do it myself but I'm strongly rethinking that

From the front...flex pipe...muffler...adaptive valve (aka flapper) just aft of muffler...and then resonator...and finally, tail pipe. You can see the resonator by looking toward the frame in the rear passenger side wheel well. Another way to. Look at it is the "flapper" is between the muffler and resonator in the stock exhaust.

Thank you!! I'm another supporter of the magnaflow 14". Sounds good and loud!! The chop isn't that bad!! Love it!! Just got it install!!!

I hear that is a good choice...just chop off from before muffler back and put in the Maggie with new tail pipe and tip. I did the GM Borla and love it. Good luck...

Has anybody installed a Carven R Series yet? I received mine today. I was shocked to see how small it is. There is almost no baffling. I have attached a few pictures.

How loud do y'all think this will be?

Da fuq? That has a solid and a perforated orrifice plate and that's it? That's going to be insanely loud. There is no dampening media whatsoever

I had it installed today. I cut off the "flapper" and left the resonator on. I don't think it's very loud. Not very noticeable at idle and a little more while driving. I am going to see how I like it this week and possibly have the resonator removed.

With the resonator in along with the rest of the stock piping and cats a chunk of pipe in place of the muffler isn't crazy loud either. I really don't see much in the way of noise dampening from an orifice plate and edge of a witches hat lol.

Does anyone know if dB Perfomance plans to release a cat back for 2014+ Silverado/Sierra 5.3? I love the sound of the Corsa system but would prefer not to pay $900 if I could get a dB Performance system for $550.

Want to hear the Carven after it's installed.. Not sure on the flow of that thing though? Nice and open, with some strange baffling. If you look at a magnaflow race they are open the whole way with a perforated core.

Just had a Gibson cat back installed on my 15 Sierra. I was worried it would be a little too loud but am pleasantly surprised. The tone is great under load and is hardly noticeable at idle.

Which one did you get? How is the drone/chopper?

Got the single exit system. Part # 615628. Autoanything.com had it on sale for 30% off when I purchased it. The drone/chopper isn't all that bad. Before I would just feel it, now I hear it.
