Corsa if you have the dough.. aFe if you like your wallet fatter. I had the corsa on my 05 and loved it. Also, now am running the aFe on my 14 and love it. Helicopter sound is there when switching from V4 to V8 but in town I run it in m5 like everyone suggests. On the highway there is no drone but get on the gas and you can tell its there.

 

I've heard "helicopter" sound a few times. Not sure what that is. I just know that I put a magnaflow on my dads 08 suburban, and it sounded like shit when it went into V4 mode. Droned like a bitch. I want to avoid that and any other annoying sounds at all costs.

I just want something that is gonna sound good, with a nice growl, not be too loud on idle, and absolutely will NOT drone in V4 mode....there are so many choices. Anyone have suggestions?

I highly recommend the magnaflow 18" muffler. It sounds great at idle, nice sound on start up and not too loud while running. The only thing you hear is a small flutter when it kicks to V4 but I certainly wouldn't call it drone. And honestly, after hearing for 10 minutes on my drive home from the dealership, I hardly even notice it.

I've heard good things on Corsa and Borla cat backs. And they are guaranteed no-drone.

ive got a corsa sport for sale. its for the double cab if that's what you got.

Be sure to give us a report back on how it sounds. I'm especially curious about how it sounds when cruising at 65/75 on the highway. I'm looking for something real quiet on the highway.

I plan on making a full comparison video of stock exhaust vs the Corsa exhaust, with cold start ups, acceleration inside and outside, as well as cruising inside and outside. I have a gopro like camera that I can use to mount on the outside of my truck to get sound samples!

Not really, I wouldn't call it drone. It was just an audible difference. Very tolerable. later I installed the Range V8 so V4 was non-existant.

I have read a bit about the "drone" or Helicopter sounds when switching from V8-V4. Is this something that cannot be overlooked or ignored? Is the sound too much to bear?

I am looking into Gibson, Flowmaster, Corsa and MagnaFlow, anyone have any definite pros or cons?
