Well, my Amp PowerSteps developed a clunk sound on the drivers side. The front bracket was very loose and after tightening it up, the clunk is gone. Decided to check the other brackets and found all bolts were loose, even the motor mount screws. Tightened all to AMP's torque specs and all is quiet and secure...happy now!

I guess my installer worked too fast after all! Word to the wise...always check your installers work!

I'll be checking mine tonight. Thanks!

Someone quite a ways back asked for a pic of the factory 4" round bars. I didn't see a response, so since I have the 4" bas on my truck her are a few pics.

I've had the 6" flat steps on my last few trucks, so I decided this time to go with the 4" round ones. Seems to me that in previous years, the tubular OEM side bars were not 4", but somewhat smaller in diameter.

Anyway, they are very solid, and seem like they will hold up very well. I think they look good, and I'm happy with them.

I think they do make them for regular cab models. I'm sure when I was first shopping for my truck, there was a regular cab, 2014 on my dealer's lot, that had the 4" bars on it.

I just put the NFAB textured black nerf steps on mine. They work great and look super clean. Pic is kind of hard to see

i installed a set of AMP research powersteps just on tuesday, for my mother's '14 crewcab. she got the plug 'n play version (i told her i didnt want to mess with popping door panels) and the total install took me 4.5 hours from the time i opened the cardboard box it came in, until the time the install was 100% complete.

GREAT product, easy install (i only took 4 hours because i was in absolutely no kind of rush, and wanted the installation to be really clean and neat) and everything works as advertised. very well built too. i absolutely will be purchasing a set for my '14 doublecab after it's lifted.

i would recommend these to anyone who wants a high quality, USA made step that hides away very very well when they're not in use. well worth the hefty price tag.

the only thing i would do differently from their instructions is to run the wiring before the motors/idler arms/steps, only because i did it in my home garage, on a creeper, rather than up on a lift. for me it was much easier to do the passenger side with the wiring first (as opposed to me doing the driver's side steps first, then wiring) but other than that, it's a very simple installation.

I bought a set from Auto Accessories Garage on July 5th. I finally had a guy start the installation today at a local truck accessory place. They have done quite a few. The guy called me back about an hour later and said that the ones I had (76154-01A) did not have the plug and play feature, just the original style. I've called AAG and they are supposed to be fixing it and sending me the missing stuff that my guy needs. Hopefully I'll have them installed by the weekend.

I did get the rear drop shackles installed and it has evened out and looks better.

The AMP website says that part # is for the plug n play version.

I reached out to AMP and they referred me to Texas Hitches & Trucks in Austin. Talked to Nick who had them in stock in their warehouse. $1,300 installed for the P&P version and he was able to get them installed the next day.

They only took two hours to install them...3 guys ...but recently had some clunking and discovered all of the screws/bolts were loose. I torqued them down myself and all is fine. Otherwise, they did a good job and they did the hard part (didn't take truck back...too easy to fix myself).

I usually check installations like this, but didn't this time...but I would use them again.
