Installed the 6" OEM rectangular chrome side steps on my crew cab yesterday. They are part no. 22805442. The retail price (whether factory or dealer installed) is $700.00. Bought mine from a New Orleans dealer via Ebay for $455.00 including shipping.

 

Each step comes with a bag of 8 bolts and 8 u-clip nuts (part no. 22876958). Installation is easy. The front 2 mounting brackets each utilize 2 pre-cast nuts, so 4 of the bolts are used, but none of the u-clips. For the 2 rear mounting brackets, a total of 4 bolts and 4 u-clip nuts are used. A rubber plug must be removed for each of the 2 upper rear mounting points. When installation of both sides was complete, 8 u-clip nuts were left over.

I've got 5" raptors in black, I got black because I didn't want the chrome look I already have too much chrome on the truck! I've had 'em on the truck for about a year and I have no complaints. I don't love the look of nerf bars but, I really appreciate the function of the steps!

I was able to get them off of eBay for my truck (22805440 - Double Cab Chrome) for $475 shipped. My local dealer, where I bought the truck, was "nice enough" to offer them to me at 10% off of MSRP. $650 - $65 = $585 + tax. I told them I had a source to get them for under $500 to my door, and they actually told me in no uncertain terms to take the deal.

Those of y'all with the PNP AMP steps......Especially in the areas that get snow and ice.....How are they holding up? Functionality wise in those weather conditions. I have N-Fabs on my truck right now and on the normal days my size 14 foot doesn't like the steps that well and this winter with snow and ice accumulations on them really didn't like them so I've been considering saving and spending the whopping $1200 for the AMP steps since my feet would like them a lot more and I don't like steps that hang low

Looking for anyone with a Double Cab '14-'15 DIESEL (must be diesel) that has the OEM 6" rectangular steps installed.

 

The diesel kit includes different brackets compared to the kit for the gas motor trucks, and I'm wondering if the passenger side step feels nice and solid compared to the driver's side step.

 

The mounting setup on the diesel just seems like it would NOT be as solid because the passenger side step mounts with one full bracket and two "split brackets" instead of three full brackets, but I would also expect that any mounting system developed for the diesel truck would need to be just as solid.

 

If you have one of these kits on your truck and can comment on the sturdiness of the passenger side step compared to the driver's side, I would really appreciate it!

Those of y'all with the PNP AMP steps......Especially in the areas that get snow and ice.....How are they holding up? Functionality wise in those weather conditions. I have N-Fabs on my truck right now and on the normal days my size 14 foot doesn't like the steps that well and this winter with snow and ice accumulations on them really didn't like them so I've been considering saving and spending the whopping $1200 for the AMP steps since my feet would like them a lot more and I don't like steps that hang low

Mine worked great when I was on vacation in the snow. The build up behind the front tire drops off when you get out as the step goes down. Didn't slip at all. I do not have lots of time in snow though. I however did research before buying them and read several people having no issue with them after years of snow weather.

I put the wheel to wheel ones on my truck about 6 months ago and the paint is already coming off.

The rusty bars look really good on my new truck.

Can someone tell me the difference between AMP Power steps 7615401A and 75154-01A? They look exactly the same to me. Truck Im trying to put them on is a 2014 GMC Sierra crew cab 4x4.

76154-01A is the PNP model that plugs into the OBD-II port.

75154-01A is the older model that you have to hardwire in.

Any one have issues with the paint on the Nfab bars?

See my earlier post where I suggested to look at the used car lots for the condition of bars after use ... they all look good on a shiny new truck parked on asphalt. Chrome and/or paint deteriorates very quickly around here with the chemical de-icers and gravel spread out over the winter; stainless is the best (and in my opinion - the only) alternative. That does not even factor in the icing on the whole underbody which can last for months if you do not have access to a heated garage.

Well I contacted them and was told they will stand behind their product

I have sent them pictures and a copy of my receipt

We will see what happends

N Fab contacted the autopatrs store I purchesed the step bars from

Should have new bars in a couple of days

    • Have considered installing a DC to DC charger in your camper to replace your isolator?  
    • Common failure.  You need to replace the fuel door housing.   The painted cover transfers over to the new housing.  To remove the old one there is 4 spots where you poke the plastic to release it.  
    • No such thing as regenerative braking on a pure ICE vehicle.     Regenerative braking is the re-capture of energy from electric motors and stores it in the battery pack.  So hybrids, PHEV and EVs have regenerative braking.     What you are seeing is the charging system changing modes is all.  Its likely entering charge mode for some sort of reason is all.  All of the charging modes will be listed below.   As for L10 vs D.  L10 turns off automatic grade braking.  L10 puts you in control of grade downshifts where in D it will automatically do it based on brake pedal position and other factors.  Otherwise L10 and D drive exactly the same aside from that one aspect.    Battery Sulfation Mode The BCM will enter this mode when the interpreted Generator output voltage is less than 13.2 V for 45 minutes. When this condition exists the BCM will enter Charge Mode for 2–3 minutes. The BCM will then determine which mode to enter depending on voltage requirements.   Charge Mode The BCM will enter Charge Mode when ever one of the following conditions are met:   Windshield wipers are ON for more than 3 s. Climate Control Voltage Boost Mode Request is true, as sensed by the HVAC control module via serial data. High speed cooling fan, rear defogger, and HVAC high speed blower operation can cause the BCM to enter the Charge Mode. The estimated battery temperature is less than 0°C (32°F). Battery State of Charge is less than 80%. Vehicle speed is greater than 145 km/h (90 mph) A current sensor malfunction exists. System voltage is determined to be below 12.56 V When any one of these conditions is met, the system will set targeted generator output voltage to a charging voltage between 13.9–15.5 V, depending on the battery state of charge and estimated battery temperature.   Fuel Economy Mode The BCM will enter Fuel Economy Mode when the estimated battery temperature is at least 0°C (32°F) but less than or equal to 80°C (176°F), the calculated battery current is less than 15 A and greater than −8 A, and the battery state-of-charge is greater than or equal to 80%. Its targeted generator output voltage is the open circuit voltage of the battery and can be between 12.5–13.1 V. When fuel economy mode is active, the generator is not charging, only maintaining open circuit battery voltage. The BCM will exit this mode and enter Charge Mode when any of the conditions described above are present.   Headlamp Mode The BCM will enter Headlamp Mode when ever the head lamps are ON (high or low beams). Voltage will be regulated between 13.9–14.5 V.   Start Up Mode When the engine is started the BCM sets a targeted generator output voltage of 14.5 V for 30 s.   Tow/Haul Mode (if applicable) Pressing the Tow/Haul Mode button located on the center stack, the vehicle system voltage is raised and the remote (non-vehicle) battery will be charged. Having the headlamps on will raise the system voltage and if the Tow/Haul button is applied it will not serve any purpose. The voltage is regulated between 13.9-14.5 V.      
    • Hello from Australia Just sharing that there is now a way to delete the active shutters entirely with just a plug in module. Opens up tons of room to light bars etc.
    • I have an observation and a question... 1) I watch the voltage closely because I have had to dial in the cut-in/cut-out voltages of the battery separator to my camper.  The "smart" charging drives me nuts.  Anyway, I noticed that when coasting for a while, and especially if lightly using the brakes (though not necessary), the voltage goes up from mid/high-13 volts to mid/high-14 volts.  Then it drops back down after stopping or going again.  Consistently!   The only explanation I can come up with is REGENERATIVE BRAKING!  Well, maybe that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but it's certainly free extra battery charging.   2) Driving on mountain roads I will use L and vary the max gear.  Things straighten out and I end up in L10.  Sometimes I leave it there for a while.  Is there any difference between L10 and D?
