I don't know either, but I'm watching the same video you are, and the man (who looks to be 200lbs - way less than the 650lbs max they indicate) is causing them to flex substantially.  Probably the mounts or the mounting points (body sheetmetal?) or both.  Either way, it's moot to me because they're as ugly as homemade sin!

it is most definitely a lot of flex. Some is good, but that is excessive.

My Amps have ZERO flex.  :P

Mine don't have any flex either and I have the Crew ones (longer than the Double-cab) ....

I’m looking to get some running boards for my 14 Silverado. I like the ones that hug tight to the truck and don’t stick out very far. I’m pretty sure I want to get some that are stainless with black inserts to compliment the wheels and bumpers, but I do like the all black boards as well. Any recommendations ? - (Sorry about the rotated picture, not sure why it did that)

I had the nfab round black ones on my '15, liked how the hugged the bottom of the truck and didnt hang down like some of the others do.. i may consider them for my new truck, but waiting to lift it before picking some just to make sure they can actually be reached by the kids and wife.

Only issue i had was some rust bubbling up from under the black coating, it was covered under warranty, but the cost of shipping them back to an address that was within a few miles of my home wasnt worth my time or money, they wouldnt allow customers to personally deliver them to the location.  So customer service was great, until that point.

About long did you have them before you noticed the bubbling? I'm personally not a huge fan of running boards, but due to the same reasons (wife and children) they are pretty much required lol.

I like my DeeZee NXT boards. I wanted the GoRhino RB10 boards but everyone was having issues with the coating peeling.

They are adjustable in-out 1” so with them slid in they are flush with the stock tires. They are powdercoated aluminum so rust isn’t an issue. I added fillers between the boards and rockers to hide the gap and made some flaps at the front to protect the front doors from rock chips. I’ve had them over a year and they still look like new even after all of the road salt this winter.

Anyone have a set of the black tube steps (round or square) they would like to trade? I have the round chrome ones and want steps, but not shiny ones.

Since no one wants chrome (don't blame anyone, I don't want chrome either) I painted the factory steps I had in bedliner and put them back on. We'll see how they hold up.

Long time lurker here, First THANKS for all the knowledge on here.  From a bed cover to a level kit to reverse lights, you guys have taught me a lot.

Who has the best price on AMP Research PowerSteps with the plug n play harness for a 17 Sierra 1500 Crew?  The best price that I've found is on EBay for $1259.XX.

What would a set of the Black nerf bars off a 17 GMC All Terrain Crew be worth?  Excellent Condition on 3217 miles on them.

    • Heat is what kills them, the redesigned cooling system and that full temperature thermostat on the side of the transmission doomed them from day 1.  The heat eventually causes the clutch material on the plate to flex which then breaks up and runs throughout the transmission.     The GMT900s when serviced regularly, often run into the 200K mile range or more.  One 6L90 in an HD3500, pulled into the shop on its own power for overhaul at 320K miles at Precision Transmission a few years ago.
    • Nice! And thanks for the assurance I'm helping Pepper and not hurting her. 😉
    • I started doing this late last year as a habit and situationally for much much longer. Coincidently I've found 1500 rpm to be my trigger point as well.    It's the same sensation as a manual held in high gear at low speeds. You can feel it tearing itself apart. Don't let it!    I'll add this tidbit. When on a longer run at 50-55 mph and in M5 once up to speed I tap the tow button which will hold it in 5th gear and then ask for M6 to activate the AFM. When I have to slow to a speed that will downshift I go back to M5 then tap out of tow. Smooth as butter. I still use D for Interstate work above 54 mph. If I forget, it will remind me. LOL.
    • Thank you Phil 😉    https://uscommodityprice.com/difference-between-spot-price-futures-price/   Read the entire article but pay attention to the paragraph on 'Convergence at Expiration" and how the futures telegraphs the spot price. At delivery they are the same. Pump price responds directionally to the futures price. No they are not the same but at delivery they are indistinguishable. Good thing to or you'd be paying a thousand dollars a gallon for the stuff.      There is an definitive answer with an absolute and assured result. However that answer cannot be discussed on this site.    But I can say this. It is beyond the ability of any human or any group of humans no matter how well meaning. We have had thousands of years to prove we could and the results are dismal. Until then we have this:         And there it is.
    • I had a strange problem with my Avalanche. Yearly once the temperature started getting hot. It would freeze me out going to my walking trail about 8 miles. Nothing but hot air going home. My machanic would put the Freon in the machine vacuum the system. No leaks put the Freon back, good for the year. My brothers truck wouldn’t work at all until he did the same procedure. I believe he finally changed the expansion valve to solve his problem.
