I hardwire everything.. but ya you can run el lighting from a battery pack with a some AA batteries to create "wearables"

If you think the ambient lighting may be too distracting check out Google and have a look at the OEM lighting options in the new Camaro's and Mercedes-Benz E class cars.. it's not for everyone but the Automobile industry acknowledges the custom car crowd

Where did you hard wire it to? (depending on how, does it turn on and off with ignition..etc.)

there's a few places you could wire it to...  over head lights, ignition, maybe even for when the headlights turn on.

with overhead lights just look in the footwell lighting thread for the wire

for ignition, i take power from here: ignition power   (check the 3rd and 4th pics in the post)

not sure where the headlight power wire is, but i'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to figure out

I do not, I considered making one but wasn’t sure how popular it would be. You can follow me on Instagram if you have one. Or I can make a build thread now I suppose lol

The el wire is temporarily setup.. the finished setup will end at the armrest like the daytime photos and not extend down along the switch panel. The problem I have is red or blue.. daytime the red pops more on the door panel but night time the blue matches the oem dash light

I would go with blue

make a build thread!!!   :)

i'm always in the build thread section checking out current and old threads - i LOVE seeing what other guys have done to their trucks.

i've gotten lots of ideas from them which has lead me to do a bunch of mods myself

Looks good Expensive.  Digging that mod.

I just finished wiping down my interior with Distilled Water and a light mix of Woolite.  Took the dog to vet and he slobbered door panels, seats, and console.  Luckily my X-Act liners protect the carpeting.

Definitely Blue.

If you just tie into the small LED behind the door handle you may be able to get them to dim with all the other interior lights using the factory switch.
