I got my bumper today and dropped it off with the powder coating guy. They're going to weld up all the brand logos on it then powder coat it.

Man I think my transmission is on the way out (starting to slipping), gonna probably get it rebuilt if I can’t find one for decent price, but on the other hand the 2023 Sierra is coming along only need front bumper, grill and dash pad. Hopefully the Silverado will hold up til this one is ready to put them 40s on it

I’ll shoot u a text smh had a hub break yesterday so truck is in shop right now got it towed to my buddy’s shop they’re going to fix it today if dealer has any hubs available, I’m lucky I exited the highway before it actually broke, felt the truck pulling to the right (just did the alignment two weeks ago) I thought the caliper was getting locked but it was the hub that was breaking so the disk was hitting the pads cause it to feel like the brakes were being applied, dragged the truck 30ft and it snapped the hub off.

I think it’s been 8 months ago changed out both front hub, going with the oem hubs seem to last longer. I would like to order kryptonite hubs but I need my truck asap. But on the other hand I did pick up a bed cover In excellent condition off fb market for free same color as the new truck with keys and all IMG_9316.thumb.png.5a42801e8443b2949e78cac941e99742.pngIMG_9286.thumb.jpeg.bb05fabe8606766115b42129a7d05423.jpegIMG_9283.thumb.jpeg.9ab109fea24ae3111a736a0c9066cff1.jpegIMG_9284.thumb.jpeg.81329756fe3db68aedb278d064aede8a.jpeg

Smh wish I could say the same but no worries it’s getting fix right now, so far this is what is damaged my caliper, caliper bolts are twisted, rotor, brake pads, speed sensor and wheel hub. Got lucky they didn’t mess up my wheel lightsResized_Resized_1000003492_486100968818002_1704386684431_1704386690946.thumb.jpeg.9b244b6fe19e1121c8019949bf3b5052.jpeg

Good deal man. I have to get me some at some point. Likely when I ditch the 18s. Hope you get your truck back running again.

Installed the RC 30" Blackout single row curved LED light bar the other day. Still waiting on the OEM light switch with the fog light option to arrive so I can wire that in.Impressed with the light output.

Had to do a little mod on the active shutters, backside of the grill and the bracket, but it worked out nicely. Going to swap the stainless steel bracket mounting bolts with some black stainless steel ones. They stick out against that black bracket. Should have packaged it with black bolts.

I finally got around to restoring my headlights. Sandpaper and then sprayed two coats polyurethane. Spent maybe 20 mins per side. it's like $50 in materials.

Got around to using the truck to haul my bikes to the track yesterday! Probably the coldest temp my truck have seen! 36 degree ambient temp. Snap couple golden hour pics on the way home.

    • I know; crap pictures.   Anyway, as a finale of sorts to this thread, I had replaced both differential covers and since they had the capability of adding temperature probes, I did that. These are MaxTow analog/digital gauges with stepper motors. They'll flutter around like crazy for a moment and start at a nominal 100 degrees Fahrenheit.   I drove a 30-mile loop to the grocery store, averaging 70 MPH (as much as 80 to see if there was a quick spike in temperature. The air temperature is 102 (ambient ?). but the first pic is 7 miles into the trip. The second is getting back into the truck after leaving the store; differential temperatures dropped about three to four degrees in 15 minutes. The third pic in on the road to my house, about a mile away.   In that run, I saw a high of 150F on the rear differential, and 121F on the front. I'm sure a longer drive or towing will see higher than that, and when that happens, I can update the observations.
    • You don't want to become predictable now, do you? 😏
    • Fully warm, coolant temp >194, closed loop.   Run time can be anywhere from just reached operating temperature to having driven 30+ miles.   The O2 chart (which is a feature I just discovered after reading) for the bad idle seems to be "most" of the time. For the little time I've been watching it (scanning and driving! watchout!) I can't seem to isolate any cause or condition yet.   It definitely idles rougher sometimes than others and so far what I've seen is the rougher idles are always rich. But not enough to set a CEL.   In other news I replaced the starter solenoid. Everything on this truck is such a PITA. Starter "snout" is mangled up with the torque converter inspection cover which is tangled up with hard cooling lines and the driveshaft. But I got 'er done without too much swearing...I just go into everything now knowing it's going to be a frustrating mess.   The starter solenoid replacement kicks off the next round of work: AC, injector rebuild, cat, exhaust. I'm just going to do it all. But first:   I don't know what my fuel pressures are. I can't definitively say the issue is the injector without first verifying fuel pressures and any leakdown. I "rented" a test kit ($199.99 at O'Really's ...intentional misspelling). They don't "rent" tools anymore, they charge you for the tool and then you return it when you're done. No joke. It is listed as a rental on the receipt but the guy told me there's no difference between renting and buying  now, you just return it when you're done and they refund the credit card. Mmmkay, whatever.   I will rule out fuel pressure issues (too much), and any leaking (that's how I'll know the problem is inside the intake). I think someone said the return line could be plugged or not flowing and that could cause high fuel pressure (and too much fuel being pushed through injectors). I'll cross that bridge if I get high readings.   As of now I'm ready to tear off the intake cover, extract the injector, and have it sent off to be rebuilt just so I can rule that out.
    • What are the conditions of this rich idle? Warm or cold engine? Run time? Does every idle look like this or only sometimes?
