Thanks for your input, I checked BFGoodrich's website and the 275/70R18 is actually .7" taller than the 286/65R18. That is quite a bit, although you are right, the 275 does have a track width of 11' on an 8" wheel compared to the 285 of 11.5" on a 8.5" wheel.

http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/tire-selector/category/off-road-tires/all-terrain-t-a-ko2/tire-details#techspecs

I still think the 275/70r18 is the way to go though. I've seen Higgs Boson's truck and his setup is similars to RvNikkor's except he's on the 285. Its not that much of a difference but the 275/70 does look taller and the width is just fine for me, after all the O.E Goodyears on the 20" wheels are already 11" wide

Some pictures for comparisons sake;

Again, not a crazy difference, both setups look great. Just a matter of personal choice. And unfortunately the Toyo AT2 does not come in the Extreme version for the 275/70, so the tire will look allot more tame, with less thread depth, and less aggressive side wall than the 285/65.

What wheel in that first pic? I really like it.

I couldn't find where I found this truck though. It was either early on this thread or on a dedicated thread for Toyo AT's.

Agreed, I was about ready to pull the trigger on some 20's this weekend until I saw these pics. Decisions decisions.

Don't have any pics with the wheels/tires on the truck yet. I went out of state for work and haven't seen it since the lift was installed.

Wendys, do you know if that top Chevy is white diamond? Looks like it to me. I have a white diamond Sierra and am heavily leaning towards that setup.

It's crazy how the same size tires on the top Chevy look so much bigger and bottom gmc look smaller because of the plastic wheel well molding. Might be time to get mine painted.

I'm not sure on the exact color, Its Higgs truck so shoot him a message.

And the angle of the pictures are different too and don't allow for an even perspective. I found this other picture he posted where the tires look smaller than they probably are.

Having 275/70s, I wish I had 285s. That's just the way it goes. Visually the extra width is going to make it look more aggressive. However 275s are quite a but easier on the wallet. 33s on these big trucks just aren't going to look big no matter what.

Idk man, I think for the typical 2" level 33" tires look great on these trucks, one just has to play around with wheel width and offset to get the desired look. I think 33" tires are the perfect combination of weight, looks, and cost. Unless one likes to go mud bogging or into very muddy off-road terrain 35" tires offer no other benefits, while they look better overall they are heavier, cost more, and are more of a hit on fuel effeciency and power. The fact that the 5.3 is no rocket ship from the factory hurts us more than other truck brands.

I really like the look of your truck btw, nice and clean.

I know there's not many pictures of stock rims for comparison, but some of us keep stockers... ?

The 2" level with 33" tires is the exact setup I'm looking to go with. The whole wheel offset is the only thing holding me back. I'd like to go with a -12 offset.

I'm at -12 in theory with the 1.5" spacers and oem wheels. I do rub at full lock in reverse with 275/60/20 and 2" level.

do you think you would rub at all if you had +12 offset with the same tire? i ordered wheels/tires and they are supposed to go on the truck tomorrow. don't want any rubbing. i only have the readylift 1.5 level. going to run 275/60r20 nitto terra g2. wheel is +12.
