Got bored today and hit the farm and CRP for a bit, to see how the RTs handle some Mississippi gumbo. This is coming from street tires so there is a noticeable difference in traction already offroad. In the buckshot heavy clay stuff, you gotta keep em spinning, which i figured as much. Though they do clean out quicker than i thought they would. Also to add for you guys going with 0 offset if you get in mud you're going to want to invest in fender flares with a tire that 11.5" wide or larger. I've got mud on top of my truck, in the bed of my truck, and of course all on the outside. On the CRP with a little more defined bottom i went all the way back on our place in 2wd. This is all at 35psi so driving range for me. If i had a pump i'd air down to 20 just to see the effects.

On my old truck with the 6" BDS Lift, -24 offset and 13.5" wide tires. I would see vertical streams of water coming from my front tires while driving down the road lol. You'll love those RT's.

What color was it? That's one of my worries is that the offset will cause more scratches. Granted i have a long scratch that's bad on the passenger side of the truck and will be repaired at some point. Backed up in the CRP today and added to it :( as much as i adore dark colors it's impossible this day in age to keep them from being scratched. Less you were to clear bra the entire thing. Which admittedly i gave thought to lol

My truck was tungsten metallic and I didn't notice any scratches or chips. I'm sure there were some but nothing to deep. Then I Line-X'd the entire truck and never worried about them again lol.

While i didn't buy XD wheels, just offering some advice. Don't go through autoanything. I'd advise to find a local 4wheelparts or one within driving range and give them a call.Or just a well known auto store. I'm in northern MS, and the guys in Memphis were great to deal with.

Although not true off-roading I did get a chance to drive some country roads over the weekend. Hit up some dirt and gravel roads that are very rough and broken up and are usually 30mph and less. Blew through these things at speeds up over 50mph and the Kings soaked up absolutely everything like the road was freshly paved. These shocks have greatly exceeded my expectations by a mile. My wife was riding with and she was literally laughing in the passenger seat saying "this is crazy!" and she drives these roads often since it's out by her parents land.

I second this. Purchased my methods and r/t's from my local 4wheelparts and had a great experience. I went back and had them do my alignment after I installed everything and they also did a great job on that. So I quoted my wheel and tire package a few places including the online guys a lot of people use and not only did 4wheelparts beat everyone's price, they are local so if any problems come up I'm dealing with actual people 15 min away.

Meh don't worry about it. It's a truck. Battle scars are a badge of honor.

 

One thing I did like about my old Tacoma was the color- It looked good even filthy as a pig. Too bad the truck itself was a pig.

2014 LT 2wd. Bilstein 5100's maxed in front. Removed factory block in rear. 33x12.5r22 ridgegrapplers. Wheels are +30 offset. Sit flush with fender. Very slight rub on full lock.

Finally did it and couldn't wait so here's some dirty truck pictures. I'll clean her up this weekend and post some good ones.

 

Method NV 17" 0 offset with 295/70/17 Toyo R/T

King 3.0 front, 2.5 rear, both with compression adjusters

Mazzulla upper control arms

SDHQ skid plate with tow hook cutouts

It's everything it's supposed to be and more. Couldn't be happier. Ride is fantastic. Also sits dead level within 1/4" all around and no rubbing, no trimming.

Could you get a few more up close pics of the SDHQ skid? Looks almost like there is a protruding lip from your front pic.

 

I am also in the same debate with the skid, I love it but trying to come up with a possible offset plate mount by popping a hole in the skid next to the tow hook and mount with something like this

Sure thing. I waited to build it until I thought the weather was over and of course it snowed Monday. So it's now going to be 70 degrees Saturday so I'll wash it and get some good pics.

The skid plate lip doesn't stick out, you are just seeing the thickness of the plate because it is straight and the bumper angles back. It fits to the same flat as the factory plastic and chrome piece. I'll get some pictures to show, it's a clean fit. I think Phoshzl posted a thread about the skid plate with some good pics and there's some good shots on SDHQ's website that shows it better.

You could definitely get away with one of those brackets mounted to the skid! I love the look of the skid and I think you could position a front plate to still look good with it.
