JonRyan Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 How did it go for the guys with storage boxes and the kicker?
EChavez Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Last I checked when you tapped into the wiring to install subs on any 6.2 you'd get feedback because of the active noise cancellation these trucks come with. Has there been any workaround this yet? 1
LaVaDog Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 How did it go for the guys with storage boxes and the kicker? I cut my box down with a gigsaw.... Followed the form of the sub box. It doesn't butt up to the sub box for fear of rattling. Just off by a hair. 1

LaVaDog Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Can you post a pic? Do you have factory or aftermarket like a du ha box? I will try to take a picture later today....the storage box was installed by the dealer, so I assume it is GM's.
LaVaDog Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Here is a quick shot for you to get the idea. 1
Korazu Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Hello all. I am new to the Silverado and just picked one up 2 weeks ago. I am looking at the amp/sub upgrade from shopchevyparts.com and was also wondering if anyone else has switched out their factory speakers also? I was looking at putting in Kicker 6x9 41KSC694 in the front door and Kicker 41KSC674 in the back door. Does anyone know what size the dash speakers are? Thanks for answering my questions and for posting your thoughts and experiences of this amp/sub combo.
silverado2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 anyone looking to purchase this kit i ordered the brand new one from gm im in florida i wont ship it Kicker 200 / 400 Watt Powered Subwoofer and Amp, Double Cab by Kicker® 19303115 whats it worth like 800?
thetruck454 Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Does anyone that installed this also have full coverage rear floor mats? I didn't think when I ordered the floor mats and now am concerned about how the sub will sound sitting on the mats vs the carpet. Worst case is I don't like it and just take a knife to trim the floor mat around the sub.
oej1919 Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I have the full rear seat husky liner and haven't noticed any negative effects. I did put two hard foam spacers inbetween the sub and the mat to ensure there was no additional noise though. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
thetruck454 Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 (edited) One more question to use that have the 6.2 and non bose system. Do I have to do anything with the sound cancelling aspect that gets added when you have the 6.2? Edited February 23, 2015 by thetruck454
Andy Chabot Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 So, I bit the bullet and purchased the Kicker Powerstage Soundgate "kit" from www.shopgmcparts.com They had the lowest price that I was able to find and don't believe any of the BS from AutoAnything about pricematching... They don't do it. They try and use smoke and mirrors, but they fail. Anyway, the install was easy. My strong suite is not reading directions, but the directions provided were actually clear and helpful. With the helpful information provided within this thread I was ready for the hard part of fishing the power wires through the firewall. That was the most difficult part. However, thanks to the other posters, I thought it went as simple as can be. The install took about 2.5 hours, simply because it was cold out and I was in no hurry. Oh and somebody routed the cable to the sub woofer backwards. Remember, read the directions... How does it sound? Frickin amazing. Far better than I expected. My own media is simply awesome, but what impressed me is what it did to XM. I wasn't sure how much it could help the compressed audio from outerspace, but it improves that 110% as well. The best part about this way of doing things is everything is plug and play and you keep the factory look of the dash... Andy 1
Green 1364 Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 So is there no way us Denali owners can use this?
henrypbui Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 So is there no way us Denali owners can use this? earlier in the thread, I believe somebody has used the Kicker Soundgate along with the factory subwoofer. Somebody correct me if I am wrong, you could use the same signal the factory subwoofer amp receives and split it to the amp of the Kicker.
