I found a major rattle vibration!!! So the trim plastic cover over the side (#1 in the photo) I reached over and pressed that down a little harder and instantly the rattle was gone on mine. I added some double sided foam tape to settle it down and so far so good. I need to get some felt tape to quiet the sunglasses holder next but can't find that tape anywhere.attachicon.gifimages.jpg

Did you put the foam tape on the entire back of the trim piece that comes off ?

Thanks in advance

No I just did a couple spots because I didn't have the right stuff. I did more of the bottom edge since the piece is kind of domed a bit

I HAVE A 2014 CHEV SILVERADO CREW CAB LT WITH 4600 MILES. THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER RATTLES DRIVING OVER ROUGH PAYMENT. MY TRUCK HAS BEEN TO TAYLOR CHEVROLET TWICE FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND IT STILL RATTLES. THE MECHANIC IS TELLING ME ITS NORMAL NOISE. I DON'T AGREE.

THEY FINALLY FIXED MY DRIVERS SEAT AFTER 2 VISITS, PLACING HOSE CLAMPS ON THE FRAME TO STOP THE SEAT FROM SHIFTING SIDE TO SIDE.

I ALSO HAVE A WIND HOWLING NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR POWER SLIDING WINDOW WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY. THEY LUBRICATED THE TRACK PER GM. I HAVEN'T DRIVEN THE HIGHWAY AS OF YET, I'LL LET YOU KNOW THE OUT COME.

Hello ROD6480,

I understand that disagree with your dealerships diagnosis with regard to the passenger door rattling. Are you interested in visiting a second dealership? If you'd like additional assistance, please send me a private message here on the site.

So I just got done a short little test drive, went and drove over a bunch of road reflectors. The wedged folded raffle ticket seems to have fixed the rattle. I will give it a week to see how it holds and fairs over roads I know for sure would make it rattle.

If this seems to be the culprit I would not doubt that it becomes a rattle many will experience. If this does fix the issue now I will just have to find something black that can give the same results, any suggestions?

I was also experiencing a rattle in the passenger door area. I would hear it when playing music with heavy bass. After seeing what you did I pressed on the window switch panel while listening to music. The rattle disappeared. I removed this piece to get a better look behind. I found some 1/8" thick closed foam tape at Ace. I stuck to the foam tape to the door panel following the contour of the switch panel then re-installed the switch panel. Any foam that stuck through after re-installing the panel I was able to push back down with a piece of shim stock. Turned the radio back on and no more rattle! We'll see if this lasts but I think it should. Wanted to thank you for getting me started in the right direction of eliminating this rattle.

Glad to hear I was able to point you in the correct direction. Unfortunately I have been procrastinating since the temporary fix I have made reduced the rattle by 80-90% so I didnt notice it much and if the radio is on I do not hear it at all. I have a quick question, how difficult was it to remove the trim on the door that covers the window switches? Since you have already removed then reinstalled the piece are there any areas where one would need to be really careful as to not crack any clips?

Thanks gone_fishing.

Just turn the stereo up. Oh... wait ... It doesn't work right either. Nevermind.

my radio works great, just like every other 20+ 14s I've been in...

I thought I had a rattle coming from my passenger door. Turns out it was a little plastic thing in the sunglasses holder. Open the holder and on the passenger side of the hole, there is a little clip. It rattles over bumps. Someone else made a post about it too.

MY 2014 CHEV SILVERADO HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I THOUGHT THE RATTLE WAS COMING FROM THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER, HAD THE DOOR APART TWICE.

WHAT DID YOU DO WITH THE PLASTIC CLIPS IN THE SUNGLASS HOLDER ?

I had a 1998 Dodge Durango that road rough as heck, but it didn't have ANY internal rattles. I never knew why until I installed a stereo and discovered that every single point of plastic to plastic contact in it's interior was insulated by that felt tape. I thought it was genius and am shocked that my Denali has absolutely nothing of the sorts. Anyone have a good source to get some of that felt tape?

Not sure about the tape, dynomat may work if it's a similar product? I've got a rattle in my front passenger door I can hear every now and again if the frequency of the music and tone is right it seems. 1800 miles on the truck so I have no clue what it could be. Going to test what the culprits have been in the previous posts to see if it solves it.

Sorry guys ,seems like gm and rattle just go together.

Anyone want a short video of what my interior of my 2008 z06 sound like ? Snap crackle and pop. Again I bought the car for the power and looks but damn gm always taking short cuts on their interior quality.

.

my 14' is quiet as a church mouse and my c5 z06 was tight as a drum...may have looked dated on the inside, but the car didn't rattle at all.

I've rode in $100k cars that rattled like a marble in tin can, aren't any of em completely rattle free throughout their life...nature of the beast.

Dealership found mine. Behind the operating handle there is a plastic plate to cover a bolt that holds the whole door panel in. This panel fits quite loosely and would rattle when I hit a bump. There is a small slot to pry it off in the corner, simply pop it off and put some foam tape on the back and no more rattle.
