So now that they have banned cell phones in vehicles in a few/many states.

What is the option for those with older vehicles?

OK, other then not using a cell phone.

My sister uses this thing that clips to her visor and bluetooths to her phone. I think its called a Jabra or something.

my Aveo has the Onstar Delete Option (RPO UE0) but the audio system has this neat little quirk where if I plug my phone into the AUX Port and someone calls my phone, the call will play through the audio system as if OnStar was installed at the factory!

Most places will still allow the use of a hands free bluetooth device rather it be in your vehicle or a headset that you put to your ear. So just use a bluetooth headset or just use speakerphone.

Before The wifes new car arrived she had one of these as mentioned above. Actually works well. Many brands available and fairly reasonable to buy and easy to use.

I've seen those earpiece Bluetooth thingies.

But how do those visor things work? Where does the sound come from?

There are speakers built into them.

When I had those visor devices, they always had a problem when driving at highway speeds in a noisy truck. My friend was a semi-tractor-trailer driver and used a headset/boom mic type device in a noisy semi.

I hate using a cellphone at all when I am driving. But if I had an older pickup, I would do the same thing I do with my semi truck... use a Blue Parrot headset. Most times, even with my 2013 1500 and now my 2015 2500, I don't even bother linking the cellphone up to the overhead and don't even answer. If it is important, they can leave me a voice message. While I like and use cellphones, I also grew up in a time long before cellphones were even a thought in anyone's mind and we still had rotary dial land line phones at home. I don't feel the need to initiate or receive calls when driving. I only have a headset in the semi truck for those times when I am expecting a call related to business, and then I take a look at the number of the call and may or may not answer it. There are many times, I don't even carry the cellphone with me in the pickup. It is one thing that auto and pickup drivers have for fines if using a cellphone without it being hands free, it is quite another doing so in a commercial truck. The first time offense fine is $2500.00 for the driver, and $11500.00 to the company. And y'all think you have issues.

I travel for work and rather than try to sort out Bluetooth in every rental I use an earpiece. Syncs to both phones so I can take personal and work calls on the same one. And it's battery level shows on my iPhone.

This is the best answer, IMHO. Second to that: a BT headset, such as a Jawbone.
