Why did you buy your truck?

I have owned a Jeep since I was 15. Did not think it would safely tow a boat when I moved to TN and I wanted to buy a boat. I had a Pontiac G6 as a second vehicle with my jeep. Wanted a boat so I bought my truck. Realized a boat and a truck that was not paid off was rather expensive. Come to realize after moving twice that buying my truck is the best idea I have had for pulling my jeep around the country.

I may eventually get an SUV but I like the option of having an open bed for whatever I may need to haul. My wife can end up getting the SUV later and I'll keep my truck.

I had a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer for 11 years. I liked it and it fit my needs, but I have a Quad and got tired of having to haul it around with a trailer. Storing a trailer sucks too. I've always liked Silverados, so after two years of wanting one, I pulled the trigger. I would have waited one more year to save up more for a larger down payment, but last July, I got $8k off MSRP, plus another $1500 off in GM card points. So daddy drove home with a new mother ship, and intends to keep it for about 15 years.

I have a small package and needed to compensate.

Besides that, work around the house, towing, and for the friends who need help moving.

Only talking about the Silverado I have now...

I had a 2006 Honda Civic Coupe which got great gas mileage (38+), but rode really stiff and took the bumps and potholes hard.

I like the ride of the previous Silverado (02) I had and wanted another one that rode as nice and smooth.

Even though I don't care for the 17 - 18 mpg, I like the ride.

I don't use it to haul much of anything, but mostly use it for commuting to work when I don't ride my bike.

Recently bought a travel trailer and was towing it with my 07 Classic 15HD, it got horrible mileage and only held 26 gal of gas.

New truck, same 6.0l but much better fuel economy and hold 36 gal. Plus it has better towing capability, so in the future I can get a bigger trailer. And it has a bunch of bells and whistles that the 07 did not.

Got a great deal on my 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad cab with 226000 trading up to a 2014 GMC 2500 HD with 30,700 miles. Could not pass up the deal.

Drove a brand new Chevy truck my dad had on loan from work for a week and I was hooked. At the time I was a teenager and couldn't afford one so I had to wait. But as soon as I could I bought the truck I have now. Wouldn't want to go back to driving a car full time now. I just couldn't do it.
