Why did you buy your truck?

I've always had full size Chevy trucks ever since buying my 1st when I was 17. I towed a couple times with my last/2nd truck (98 Silverado) and the engine seized so instead of getting it fixed (the way I treated it I was tired of doing major fixes, had the trans rebuilt, the engine that seized was the 2nd engine that had been in it so it wasn't the same one that was in it when I bought it and replaced the rear axle twice). I bought my current truck and traded the 98 to the shop I normally go to for the toolbox and steps on my current truck which included them installing them. I don't really tow, but I use the truck for hauling and I'm not afraid to use it as a truck. I didn't have my truck even a week before I had to hook a chain up to my uncle's POS and pulled it to his place (put the chain through a pipe to make sure he didn't run into the back of the truck). My 1st truck was an 86 Custom Deluxe C10 which is what I learned how to drive a manual with. If it would have been 4x4 I would have kept it as a 2nd truck to play with.

So I went from an 86 Custom Deluxe without factory A/C and a weak 305 to a 98 Silverado Z71 with a 350 to now my '14 Silverado 5.3. I seem to always make a big jump lol. I had the 86 for a little over a year and a half. I had the 98 for a little over 10 years. I plan to have this truck until it can't be driven anymore.

I have had a truck since 1972, I use it for business and pleasure. Its been a little over 2 weeks since I sold my truck and I am picking up the new one this Weds. Although I have a car (09 CTS4) its seem to really need the truck the last 2 weeks.

I traded in a 2012 Reg.Cab W/T 18,000 for a 2012 Z71, excuse I made was wanted something a nicer to drive. The 2012 inside road/wind noise and stiff ride along with high maintenance black was getting on my nerves. New style and interior sold me on the 2014

Is it a personal or company vehicle? Do you tow? Just wanted something big to drive?

Post up...why did you buy your Silverado/Sierra?

Moment of insanity.

I do a lot of projects

Hauling the family (kids and dog) makes it easier with the room

Just a few examples

I have a 1990 Toyota 4x4 X-cab with 361,000 miles on it. In February 2007 I bought a brand new Toyota Taco 4x4 X-cab TRD which turned out wasn't the truck I thought it was. I hated it. Kept it 5 months, 6,000 miles. Took it to the GMC dealer to trade it in. I tossed the keys to the first salesman who came out, and said, "I ain't driving that thing home. What else ya got?"

The only thing they had was this GMC Sierra SLT 4x4 X-cab. I drove it home.

I love it.

Bought my first house in 2011 and quickly realized the need for a truck with projects around the house. But at the time, money was tight and I couldn't afford a second car payment on top of my wife's Forester. So now that I am in a better place financially, I was finally able to buy a truck. First truck I've owned. My other car which I still have is a Subaru WRX Wagon that I bought new in November 2001. Heavily modified and used for mountain road driving, auto-x and track racing. Nice to have a change of scenery of being higher up. Being 6'4, it's much easier to get into the truck than down into the Subaru.

Trucks have always been a hobby of mine. It's something that my grandfather turned me on to. I bought a 2007 GMC Sierra 2500HD Duramax back in May of 2014. I mainly bought it for hauling my ATVs & I have a 32 foot toy hauler that I recently purchased. So far it's a great truck & I don't believe that I would go back to a Diesel if I had to.

Love driving a truck.

Feel safer.

Love camping and hauling gear is much easier.

Girls love a guy in a truck ;)

I do haul snowmobiles and a Seadoo too....comes in handy for the seadoo because I don't need a boat ramp to launch it.

Also easier to haul camera gear including light stands etc....I own a photography biz.

I do woodworking for fun and (very little) profit. Real lumber yards' stock STARTS at 8'+ long. Cannot carry that home in a Subaru Hatch Back (my other car).

I've only driven blue GM trucks since I got my license . My first truck was a blue 98 Chevy S-10 then I bought a blue 03 Chevy Silverado SS. This time around I needed to get a crew cab and I wanted something different (except color)but I only drive GM trucks. So I got a blue 2015 GMC Sierra Z71. Now we don't take my wife's Chevy Traverse everywhere. I can take my family camping and take out wifey in style. 5cd1d1ff1e04ca509899c886dd3a5790.jpg
