2013 1500 Headlights

Hey guys,

 

I bought my truck new in 2013 and since then I have had to replace both headlights now 3 times. I can never get anything out of the dealer whether it's a recall or anything like that. Is anyone else having this issue? It's only my headlight/running lights the high beams are fine I have never had to mess with those.

Headlights as in the low beam/drl headlight bulb?

 

Common. the DRL circuit runs a lower voltage through the bulb and shortens the life of the bulb. I always turned them off (headlamp switch flick left) or went to the park lamp position and turned them off that way. Or turn them full on. I never had to change a headlight bulb on my 2012 (can't stand DRL). If they go out again have them check for a melted connector, which is common as well.

Ya it was the Low beam/ day time running lights. This will be the 3rd time they burned out and had to replace them. When I spoke to the dealer today they said they have never seen this issue before. Getting kinda tire of buying headlights they aren't very cheap.

Have never had an issue with the drl's/low beams over 4 trucks in 15 years.

 

Either the mounting is loose in the housing & the bulbs are vibrating or would guess as above, a short in a wire/harness.

Not sure how to troubleshoot that other than to visually inspect any wires.
