Sweet truck man...love the blue! Those stock rims are nothing to bitch about LOL.

Nice Denali! It's nice GM offers the Denali in other colors. It used to be black, white, Sonoma red.

Excellent choice and beautiful truck - but then again I congratulated you before you bought it :)

Yep, you did. The first day I went looking at them was not sunny and the trucks were slightly dusty after some rains. But when it was all cleaned up sitting in the sun, I had to have it.

I bought a new motorcycle about 6 years ago based soley on the blue color! Wan't too interested in it till the salesman rolled it out into the sun and he had me hooked. I almost bought a blue silverado (I had a two tone blue and silver 1992 model back in the day) but I stuck with black for the third time. Very nice truck!

Good to hear you won't be going off-road. As far as the "Texas Law" thing it isn't a law. It is a line item in your policy. The only reason I know this, Is 4 2014 and 2015 trucks have had frames damage at a friends high end collision shop. One of them was totaled by the insurance and the other 3 were full frame replacements. The one that was totaled was hit HARD! 2 of the other 3 were minor bumps similar to your frame. The last truck is still sitting there while the insurance figures out what they want to do.

Some insurance companies will not fix frame damage because of the likely hood of additional repairs in the future due to shoddy work from the replacement.

Good looking truck and awesome choice on the color!

Nice truck!! You were lucky to see it in person before making the choice. When GM started accepting 2015 orders last year, all I had to go by was the paint chip the salesman had. I'm so glad I went with the blue, plus there's not many of them running around!

Well, my 2014 Denali was totaled by insurance for some frame damage (Texas law), so I took the payout and dropped it on a new 2015 Denali. With rates and prices both being better, I got a couple of upgrades in the process - 6.2L and 22" wheels. That's about all I was missing on my 2014. I ordered the Yukon Denali wheels with the chrome inserts - they should be in next week. I'll keep the polished wheels below as spares or sell them locally. I wonder if they'll fit on my wife's 2003 Yukon?

Yukon wheels I ordered...

It was built at the end of August and shipped to the dealer the first week of September, so hopefully it's got all the appropriate A8 fixes. My 2014 was built in Nov/Dec of 2013. I also ordered a G4 Elite last night for the bed - a must have supplement IMHO.

First impressions:

The Mag Ride is incredible. I have a couple of older asphalt roads near my home with many repairs and ripples, and it was noticeably smoother than the 2014 without MRC. This was the option I wanted most. Definitely worth the upgrade all on its own.

I love the Blue. I was initially hesitant as my wife only buys black and it's so difficult to keep clean. I've only personally owned white vehicles my whole life, but there are a lot of white vehicles around here and this blue is gorgeous in the sun when clean. My kids wanted it too, so they're super excited as well.

I didn't have Z71 on my 2014, so I didn't get Hill Descent Control. The 2015 has it. Don't know if I'll need it.

The vibrating seats are noticeably stronger then my 2014's. The vibration feature was barely noticeable on my 2014, but the new seats really get my attention. I don't ever remember the 2014 being this strong.

The passenger side mirror is now concave so everything looks much farther away - I do not like this. My 2014 was not and I prefer it.

My 2014 didn't have the stone guard paint behind the rear wheels. The 2015 does.

The voice commands react MUCH quicker. In my 2014 the system would wait and think for 4-6 seconds before executing the command, and 50% of the time it would ask for clarification. There is little to no lag so far and not one of my voice commands has been incorrect. Small sample, but definitely much faster.

The 6.2L sounds wonderful when you get on the throttle! I wasn't expecting this since there's supposedly noise cancelling. I guess that's only at cruise. When you get on it, you can definitely hear it.

The gas pedal has a false bottom or something. I've only hit the floor twice or so, but it took two pushes to get there. Very weird. Maybe a second spring? Somebody please clue me in here.

I'm not real excited about having 8 gears now. It took me long enough to get used to the 6 speed. The truck flies through first gear even on very light throttle. I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually though. No impression of gas mileage, but cruising home it was as I expected - a couple less than the 5.3L.

I have the 15 Denali as well, but the 5.3L. Did your dealer happen to offer the Cilajet protection? It's a life saver seeing how the blue stands out more than white did.

    • We have now!  2027 GMC Sierra  Early look, but I'm a GMC guy and so far I think I like the looks of the Chevy better.
    • HD at the moment, are kinda their own deal.  How LTZ sells on those vs on 1500, there is a difference.   They are merging most of the mid trims on 1500.  LT, RST and LTZ are replaced by one trim, Silverado.  LT and RST are a BIG portion of sales.    Bad naming choice aside, the new Silverado trim will offer the spread of options that those three trims offered.  So expect to see things like the tech package for example, and memory seats.  And LT Trail Boss will now just be "Trail Boss" (formerly LT Trail Boss) but will offer content spread like the new Silverado trim will.  The press photos showed the Trail Boss (formerly LT Trail Boss) has access to Super Cruise now, which on the current truck was High Country only.       Here is the Trail Boss interior.  Memory seats and Super Cruise are present.  All things the LT Trail Boss it replaces, and the RST it was based on didn't get on the current gen.  You had to go to LTZ or ZR2 for memory seats, and High Country for Super Cruise.
    • I installed a Hellwig rear sway bar on my 21 Sierra SLT, it made a huge difference on how the truck handles, no body roll, the trucks much more planted now. Not sure of the suspension differences between the 21 and 26,  if its body roll your having a sway bar will solve it.
    • So a follow up and my fix. I found in online searches the live data to look at on a scan tool to verify the fuel tank pressure sensor was working.  It showed an spec number towards the lower end of the rang, but in spec.  Then while it was running opened the gas cap and the pressure should change.  It didn't change even a tiny bit.  The data for the purge valve said it was open...never changed. So then I measured the voltages on the plug for the fuel pressure sensor and they matched what it should be.  So local car quest parts had the sensor in stock...it was a bit of a pain to remove and an even bigger one to get it to actually go back in.  It helped to unbolt the driveshaft and bungie cord away from the gas tank to give a bit more room to work. So fuel tank pressure sensor in I cleared the code, and started it up.  I went to the scan tool's live data and... Eureka! The pressure number was different and fluctuated a bit.  So took it on a short drive and pressure number varied saw the purge valve go from closed to open and back to closed.  Drove it to and from work for roughly a week plugged in the scan tool no codes.  I took it in to get tested and passed.  In my state's infinite wisdom (oops meant greed), since I pushed the test with the maximum extensions I have to take it back in by Feb '27 to 'get it back up to date', then my next test won't be until Feb '29.
