How do you get the $10-$12k off MSRP?

Starting looking at getting a '15 double cab LT all star package. I don't "need" a new truck but would like to replace my '03. Been offered models, say MSRP is $43,510 saying Invoice is $41,184 dealer is saying model can get me approx. $6750 in rebates (including the "old inventory" reduction of approx. $2.5k). How do I get the remaining money off? Tell them it's not good enough, tell them others are getting more off? Guess I'm not very experienced at this and looking for some pointers to get me to pull the trigger on a new vehicle.

Thanks for the input.

You gotta stand in middle of showroom and shout f-bombs...Sorry, being sarcastic from an old thread here.

Seriously, don't know. I got about same deal as you're seeing, If I'm remembering right.

I just went in and showed the sales manager laura gmc prices and said can you meet it? Told him I'm going to call around to all the dealers till I find someone, why would I pay more? Wasn't 10k but a 60k denali for 51k was a pretty good deal. They should get a customer for life and it isn't just the sale, all the service work etc.

I wasn't experienced either and still am not (first new car), just told them what I wanted and was prepared to walk. Took me 3 dealers but found one. Already went back and showed Laura gmcs prices on the acadias for my wife when we are ready. First thing the sales manager said was how are they making money with a grin, said I don't know but can you meet their prices. Said come see me when you are ready.

edit one thing I think helped was I didn't have a trade, I don't think they would have given me a good trade with that good of price. I just sold my 04 denali locally so it wasn't a big deal

I was offered 10k off sticker for a 2015 lt crew demo with 4500 miles at my local dealer, and i then told this to another dealer about 30 miles away and they said they would beat that price if i drove out and they did! And instead of a demo, they gave me 2015 all star crew 5.3 with only 7 miles on it, as well as throwing in oem boards, a spray in and leather. Guess they needed the buisness more than the first dealer...

Btw, 43k sticker sounds a bit high for a double cab all star... my crew cab was stickered at 42k

That's around same percentage off as OP

I bought my 2014 LTZ new on March 31, 2014. It stickered for $50,298. With GM Employee discount, "Truck Month" savings, rebates, etc., I bought the truck for just over $40k. right at $10k off sticker.

The incentive right now is $10k-$12k off sticker... BUT! Here's the fine print. "Vehicles in stock the longest"! In other words.... The ones that haven't sold because no one wants them!

When the '16's hit the showroom, you'll see some pretty deep discounts.

I doubt you'll see anything more than the 10k in rebates, even when the 16's roll out. I've been working for GM for a while and thats the most I've seen them do on Silverado's. To get that discount you need to be on a "bonus tag" vehicle. Good news is, GM did a fast start program this month where for every bonus tag vehicle you sold they would replace it with 2 more "tags" to put on your next 2 oldest vehicles of the same type, ie if you sell one bonus tag Cruze and 3 tagged Silverados they would be "replaced" with another 2 Cruzes and 6 Silverados.

Hopefully that makes sense...

Wait until the dealer has more '16 models i the lot than '15.

That's how I've got my '13 for over 12 G's off the sticker.

Got my 2014 Silverado LT 4.3L 2WD Double Cab for $29,400 OTD in November 2013, don't remember what the MSRP was but not many incentives when you buy new model year off the lot.

I'd wait until 2016's start showing up at the dealerships.

Tell them you want the 20% off MSRP that they were giving last month. Talk to the sales manager, not the salesman. Call around. You will get it.

Good luck

I just emailed them and the internet sales manager said what he could do price wise and it worked for me. My truck was 52k and I got it for 43k. I try to have all the numbers before even stepping foot into the place. I do agree to shop around, I bought mine at the 4th place I talked to because they offered a lot more for my trade. Without a trade this would have been an easier process. Good luck to you in your search!

I got my 2014 a year ago before the 2015's hit the lot and got a little more than 10k off mine (about 25% off). The rebates when I bought were $9,500 off. Funny thing is I got the dealers close to that same price point a month earlier when the rebates were $4,500 off double cabs so go figure. If you can't get at least 20% off on a 2015 then move on to another dealership.
