Fold-A-Cover, Backflip, or Extang Solid Fold 2.0?

Does anyone have the GM drop in plastic bed liner with any of these covers? Or the Gator or Undercover Flex? Trying to see which one will work best with the bed liner that was dealer installed when new.

I like the looks of the Bakflip G2 and others best with how it is pretty flush with the bed rails and don't mind the tubs and I'm not usually using that part of the bed, but don't want to get it if I can't install it with the liner.

My truck came with a bed liner from GM and I have a Bakflip HD. I do not know if its a drop in though.

When I say drop in, I'm saying that its a plastic bed liner thats been put in at the dealer and not a spray in bed liner. Maybe I'm not using the right term. I think we probably have the same liner if its black plastic.

I have the backflip G2 in my 2015 LTZ 1500. I had a backflip HD on my 2013 Sierra 2500. I really like them a lot. FRP coated aluminum, tough, supports weight, mostly waterproof, secure when you lock the tailgate.

My bad, no FRP.

I bought the bakFlip F1 around a year ago and I am waiting on my 2nd replacement under warranty. The original one had a broken hinge after about 6 months and now the replacement cover is delaminating on one panel. The good news is that they send our a replacement after you send in pics but it takes weeks to get it.

Not sure I would buy one again.

I just submitted a claim on my undercover Flex as the paint/finish was starting to chip. 1 email and a couple of pics of the current state of the cover and I had a new one on my doorstep in 3 days. You can't beat that for Customer Service, plus you get a longer warranty than the Bak...both the Flex and F1 are comparable tonneau covers.

I have a fold-a-cover and love it , mainly got because i liked being able to open the front insted of going to the back and opening the whole cover to get to somthing up front . I have not had any water leaks at all

I have the fold-a-cover with the caddy. No problems no issues, carrying big item two bolts and the entire cover is out.

and I bought the style steps that fit the crew cab, 3.5” wide oval one piece aluminum extruded construction and completely rust proof!

looks nice.

I decided on the Fold-A-Cover G4 Elite a few days ago. It fits my needs and I like the way it opens. I looked at many many other ones. I am going to skip the box for now and pick it up later. I am curious though, how do you like those steps? I am thinking about those as well the pictures they have on the site don't give a good view of how it looks on the truck. (sorry for the late reply just get my truck a couple weeks ago and still getting up to speed).

Actually, the Flex is closer to the Bak Fibermax than the F1.

I ended up getting an Advantage hardhat tri-fold after debating on getting the "lower profile" types that flip up against the cab - after lots of research seems like there are ALOT of bad reviews on these types of covers. They do not keep the bed completely dry, hardware rusts, they require drainage tubes, and many seem like the added rails and/or fasteners used to make them work would potentially get in the way and get damaged by heavy cargo moving around in the bed.

The only good reason I could see for getting one of these types would be if you were a contractor needing access to the mounting holes in the truck bed rails for additional canopy/racks or whatever.

That's it.

Plus they're very expensive.

    • Looking up on the web you can the information that would seem obvious. You asked engine components to do more. You get more wear. The answer is they can last just as long but required more maintenance. Apparently having to change lifters, cam and associated components are maintenance or repairs. In some research the normal life span of valve train components are 80-100 miles with 3-5K miles oil change. So the next logical conclusion would be cost per mile. I use that analogy with my wife all the time with vehicles. My Odyssey is approaching 170K. The cost per mile will go up at 200K with maintenance. Looking at a low cost car. A K-4 with a 10-10 warranty. Selling my Ridgeline that’s about to hit the same maintenance milestone. My argument becomes not only I get worry free driving. But at no cost increases. Because I take the money from my Ridgeline and maintenance savings and other potential savings. I’m driving for free. So tying it with a bow. It makes you wonder. Is this a grand conspiracy by the auto makers? Raise the potential maintenance high enough. Buyers by extended warranty to 100K miles. Do the minimum maintenance required. Trade in at the warranty end. How long should they last? That question is what keeps people up at night. The answer is much more complicated than it used to be.
    • Could you cite your source on this?  I cannot find any reference to the US secretly taking the oil.  I find references that the US helped oil tankers move through the Strait of Hormuz, but nothing about what you're stating.
    • Same thought, also the everything doesn't have the details real photos do (talking about the noise in the photo)
    • Since the media YOU and your buddies are programmed to watch failed to mention this, I'll fill you in.   Trump admitted today that we've grabbed 150 MILLION barrels of oil from the Iranian tankers locked in the Strait by our Navy. We turned off their transponders, took them out to sea in the dark of night since they have zero radar capabilities anymore, offloaded every drop onto another vessel, and put them back by morning so no one was the wiser. That oil has been en-route THROUGHOUT the entire conflict.   Main reason he admitted this is to let even guys on our own side who joined leftists in complaining about the prices that he hears us all, and has taken steps to make sure this didn't spiral into a BAD situation ... just like the mainstream media has been PRAYING would happen, just so they could gloat. Amazes me how these people are rooting for the destruction of THEIR OWN HOME, just to make a President they don't agree with or like look bad! That's next level TDS!   I know your not capable of giving our President the benefit of the doubt, again due to your deep programming, but THIS is why oil never hit $150 a barrel as predicted by your programmers, AND the reason oil continues falling. Like I said before, Trump's got a plan, and this is proof of it. By the end of his term, we're going to be in GREAT shape for a change!   Since I just spent $3,000 this week on #2 heating oil and gasoline, the war most certainly is ending! 🤣   https://mxmnews.com/article/ba359ac9-2711-4851-92de-187f2400f2dd?breaking-trump-cancels-iran-strikes-deal-now-approved-by-all-parties
    • No leaks. Replaced the condenser 3 years ago. Problem was found to be caused by the A/C blend door actuator. Just replaced it and it's blowing out the cold air it used to when I bought it.
