Anybody feel ripped off over all terrain tires?

I'm loving the Duratrac's now. I see deep mud and I don't even hesitate now. I just go for it. ha ha..

I didn't even bother with GM I just changed mine out. They would have just said they still have tread on them.

It's obvious the rubber compound changes though out the tire as the grip went away as they wore.

After complaining to the Dealer days after I bought the truck and opening a case with GM this is what I got back from the dealership.:

The Goodyear SRA that is on your truck is what GM considers their All-Terrain tire. It is in fact the only tread choice on our 20" wheel for both 2015 and 2016, there is no All-Season option. I do not debate that there are more aggressive tread designs on the market that may do a better job pushing snow, but those are not available from GM. Our experience has shown that the SRA is sufficient for most plowing applications and we suggest you give them a try before you consider purchasing a different tire. If I can be of further assistance please don't hesitate to write or call.

GM has taken it upon themselves to reclassify the Wrangler SR-A from an All Season tire to a All Terrain tire in the 20" wheel option. Because of the odd size tire the only option for an All Terrain is the Goodyear All Terrain Adventure which is about twice the cost. They have done this to save money.

I called Goodyear's corporate tech line and they verified that the SR-A is a All Season Tire. I also stopped in at 2 company owned Goodyear stores and they verified that as well. Every other truck on a GMC or Chevy lot that has the 18" wheel package with the All Terrain tire option has actual All Terrain tires on the truck. It's just the 20" wheels they put the crap SR-A on and call them All Terrains when in fact they are All Seasons.

Next step is small claims court.

Its not just the 20s". My 2015 came with 18" goodyear wrangler SR/As (stickered as ATs). They were garbage for sure. Sold them off as soon as i could

Correct they say the 18" SRAs are All Terrain and they will do nothing about it. I called goodyear and all tire shops i could find and they all confirmed they are all seasons no question. But GM says different so thats that

There are other things they did that are "not as advertised".. Namely the HD radio they disabled but continued to post as a feature on the window sticker. The rancho shocks... iPhone messaging interface.. The map data on navigation...

What gives General Motors the right to call Goodyear's Wrangler SR-A an All Terrain tire when Goodyear has classified as an All Season? We're dishing out some serious money for these trucks and they are deceiving us.. Maybe I should say LYING!

If i'm paying for All Terrain tires as per the build sheet I expect to get All Terrain tires.

They are Bridgestone Dueler A/T RH-S -are these a rip off?

I'm actually more interested in how they do in the snow , since we average over 120" most winters.

Got some good news yesterday, got a call from my salesman at my dealer. He said GM contacted them about the Goodyear tires not being A/T tires and they are going to replace them....I was actually surprised.

Got a call from GM today as well saying they will replace the Goodyears.....Don't know who is picking up the tab but I am happy at this point although I have no idea what kind of tires they will be, assume they might be the Duellers.

NO, I wish i had them, not sure how the 22's are going to be, but my 05 had them, 60k on the first set, about 45k on the second set, still plenty o life left, never ever stuck, never, handled anything great, plenty of tug hill miles on those tires, I can honestly say the only time 4wd was necessary was when I 1 either wanted to play, 2 didnt want to wait for traffic, plus I tow heavy lots of hard jack knifing into the driveway with boat, I'm pretty good with rotations but not as good as others, I would gladly gave them the $200 for them

So much complaining, they are stock tires, you know going in they aren't going to put some aggressive AT tire on. There are multiple styles of the SR-A, go to the Goodyear website and at the top it says next to symbols All-Season then All-Terrain. The naiveness of some people is comical. "I clicked the $200 up charge to AT, where are my Duratracs!"

Just because they aren't good for some doesn't mean they aren't good for the many others who don't deal with deeper snow and off road conditions or they are horrible at what they were designed to do. Most honestly don't deal with that and they have to design a tire that meets the larger demographic. You want better tires, go pay to upgrade, there is a reason it is called pay to play.

They use the same symbols for the sr-a as the Armortrac, Ats and all terrain adventurer. So yes goodyear does classify them as an AT. You just can't please anyone these days.

Are they great tires, not really, but they will be fine until it is time for an upgrade and when I do I will go with a more aggressive AT pattern and hit some trails. If I wanted to hit up some trails or do more aggressive stuff I wouldn't rely on my stock tires...
