2016 Tire Choices....

Noticed at my dealership that some of the 2016 trucks had the SR-A's but there were also some with General Grabbers and some with Dueler A/T's. The guy at the dealership said thats how they were shipped to them......wonder why I got the lucky SR-A's on my truck instead of the Duelers.

Depends on what size wheel and what options you get...

Correct. Seems the shittier wheel you get the better tire you get.

My 16 Denali came with sr-a

I actually think I liked the ls2 on my 2014 Sierra SLT better. So is there one that is known to be garbage ?

Yes 26000 miles and the SR-A's on my truck are done. New tires ae coming in this week.

The SR-A have 1/4 of tread left and slide all over the place and lateral grip is gone so the front end will even slide in turns.

Always kept properly inflated and rotated every oil change.

Way too soft of a tire.

I've run my SRA's for 3500 miles on dry pavement, rain, and snow. I know some talk about the SRA's as being the worst thing since Hepatitis, but I don't think they are horrible. Mine have done fine on dry pavement and in the rain, but not so good in the snow. To me, they are just a mediocre tire. It's just that when someone has driven on really good tires, going to a mediocre tire seems horrible. My wife's 2015 Equinox came with Michelin all seasons. This would have been a better All Season choice than SRA's on the Silverado. Much better tire, but more expensive too.

I'm choosing to upgrade to a mild All Terrain tire (Cooper or Nitto) for better snow traction, better off road traction, and better looks. It's too bad dealers don't have a standard policy of allowing customers to upgrade to a better tire at the time of purchase for a reasonable fee. Offer (1) all-season upgrade option, and (2) all terrain options would be reasonable.

I sold my brand new take-off tires on a local forum for $400. New BFG's in stock size were around $900-1000 so I upgraded for about $600. Tire store said they couldn't sell the tires as new so they didn't want to buy them from me.

I'm going to be ditching my SR-A's one way or another. They're like racing slicks on a wet road. I had General Grabber HTS on my last truck, those kicked butt compared to these.
