I have a 2015 silverado that plays videos of a USB that I saved MP4 videos, will this work with this or do I have to have the DVD player on my current truck. Again my truck doesn't not play dvds. Also I already have the OEM DVD overhead player, will you sell the harness by itself?

Give me a Text guys and we can chat. I can sell just the harness yes, however it will require the DVD/bluray player. Screen doesn't run off a typical video input. I am working on designing a cable that will allow you to play from USB to an aftermarket overhead screen, but that will be down the road.

Be happy to discuss pricing etc if you want to text

I just purchased the RSE kit from Anthony. I have already upgraded to the in-dash DVD capabilities, the unlocked HMI and the third brake light camera from MVI for my 2016 HD and have been extremely pleased!!! I've been waiting for them to finalize this kit as this is the one option that I wanted that my 2016 didn't come with. I am very excited to finish it up once I receive the remaining parts next week hopefully. Once I get it all installed I will post a thread but I already highly recommend Anthony and MVI as their CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TOP NOTCH!!!! Who else gives out their cell number to be contacted on! I had a few questions on my first install and Anthony was there to help me out. You can't go wrong with them.

You still have to change out the hardware. This is not going to change going forward, unfortunately...that i see any way. GM has a whole new platform they are running with. The new GM electrical system is unlike anything in the past and they will likely not deviate from this path in my opinion.

I assume this can be added to the 2014 Silverado correct?

Read thru what I could of this thread, I have a '15 Sierra SLT with IO5 - I just want to add android auto/carplay - don't care about nav... but I have a couple questions before I order...

  1. Does the install require putting in new USB inputs or do the existing ones work with the upgraded radio?
  2. What can I usually sell the stock radio for? or is it a core exchange?

Thanks!

They send you a USB/HDMI port to plug into for mirroring and reading thumbdrives or any usb storage. You factory USB ports remain unchanged. You have to plug into the provided ports for video. These guys are awesome at what they do! You will love the carplay.

I just did this IO5 upgrade from MVI (didn't need or want factory Nav). It was pretty simple...took me about 20 minutes. Works exactly as advertised. The only issues I had were that a few of the retaining clips from the head unit bezel came off when the bezel was removed and I had to dig them out of the radio bay and re-install them (no big deal) and that SiriusXM seemed a little confused about the swap and switching my service from the old radio ID to the new radio SiriusXM module took almost as long as installing the three modules. Geez, I wish upgrading my other cars to CarPlay could be as easy as this was. Nissan has an even worse OEM Nav interface than GM.

I do note that in order to get CarPlay started, I have to go to the Intellilink home screen and push the CarPlay button on the screen, unlike my wife's car where CarPlay comes up as soon as you plug in the phone. Again...no big deal.
