I happened on this thread and am pretty excited about this mod for late model GM trucks. I am currently shopping for a new vehicle and have been leaning towards a used 2014 or 2015 Silverado, but I really want the Android Auto. Does this mod work for any of the touch screen radios? Or does it only work on specific units. Thanks in advance.

Just wanted to keep some people insight into the customer service of MVI.

 

I purchased a smart phone mirroring module for my 2014 Silverado to use with my iPhone 6 and now 6s. Worked perfectly as described. After about a month I started having some issues. I gave Anthony with MVI a call and he gave me some trouble shooting tips on the phone, immediately sent me manuals for the trouble shooting and offered to ship me the parts. Well when I took everything apart it appeared the issue was a bit more involved than we initially thought. I called Anthony back and am now shipping the module back for a replacement with no drama, no long hold times trying to get in touch with the right person. This is customer service you rarely see now days. No I am not paid by MVI for this. I was done right by the company and felt they deserved praise.

i can say exactly the same ...... service is really fast and nice.........i had no impression to be a number but more a V i p customer.......

long life to mvi and would appreciate if others company follow their example

So far I am happy with the upgraded radio with carplay in 2014. It's a lot faster and the carplay features are nice.

 

Just wish I would have my $500 core module credit though...been almost a month. No credit yet...

Thanks for the great words guys...much appreciated. We work hard to give exceptional customer service. Colton...I'll be getting the replacement going to you tomorrow. New parts arrived today.

 

Sorry about the core credit...just hit a huge slow down on the non wifi modules for some reason. It will sell though and hopefully soon...just need to find it a home

Small review after 2 week with my upgraded radio and Android auto. .......I love it. Super responsive. Android auto work like a charm...it is like I changed truck but when I get out of vehicule I know it is the same ahahah...

I'm thinking about adding Android Auto. I have a '14 LTZ with factory 8"nav etc. I'm curious what it'll cost though... sucks us 14 and 15 guys need all new hardware.

 

For the guys that have done it, what exactly are the features I'll gain over the factory mylink? I know the basics, just curious if there's some things I don't know about. I did watch MVIs video about it. Also, what factory features will I lose?

Installed my Carplay with factory nav today on my '15 and love it. Straight forward installation.

Hey guys...here's another video link showing the camera in-motion we can now offer on the 2016 hardware. I'll be doing a much better video in a new Silverado in the next week or so. I'll also be able to document more of what will need to be done ontop of the software unlock to attain full functionality.
