~~ VENDOR MVI ~~ Apple CarPlay, Android Auto UPDATES

Hey guys...I am playing around with some stuff and need someone willing to do some testing with me. I'm trying to get the CarPlay/Android Auto Steering Wheel voice activation button working. I need a specific customer though...so if this doesn't meet your vehicle then please wait to see the update on the outcome.

Has to be a 2014-2015 GMC owner...either Sierra or Yukon CANT be a Denali. There will be some parts cost involved, we'll keep it minimal.

Text me if you're interested...cell number is below

Anthony at MVI has been great he has been helping my upgrade my system from I03 to I05 with Carplay. He has helped me source the parts needed for the upgrade and has been very quick to respond via text message.

I will post an update once I have the system installed in my truck

Anthony,

Is there any information on changes for the 2017 modules and when or if an upgrade from the 14/15/16 MY trucks will be possible?

Yes I would be interested as well about the 2017 model.

2017 uses the same unit / part as 2016 no change. In fact they ran out of the 2016 ones and they can no longer be sourced at this time even by MVI. GM was even doing build runs with the old unit / part from 2015 and giving people a $200 credit on the sticker which is a joke.

Anthony / MVI should be able to confirm this.

It's actually not the same believe it or not and there are several changes some of them significant. We'll post more shortly :)

Hello Anthony. I have a 2014 Sierra 1500 Denali that I had your HMI mod done and I simply love it. Anyone who rides in my truck is blown away that they can watch movies while in motion. My question to you is, since I already have your HMI done in my truck, can I get the newest updates as far as Android Auto and the phone mirroring option added on?

Hey Guys

Sorry Haverhill had a lot of time to be in here lately. We have some new cool projects that have been keeping us pretty busy. I'll be updating with some new stuff in the next week or so hopefully.

Once again...sorry this is late. GT is correct, 17 modules are definitely different. There is some new info posted up in the unlock thread I believe. Main difference is the app shop which is a total joke right now. It's nothing to get excited about, there is a total of 3 apps available right now. There is talk of more coming, but GM needs to get their stuff together with an update so they can actually support the product they already released to their customers in 16 first...in my opinion anyway. Long story short...not much to talk about with the 17 modules..not right now anyway.

And yes...parts are still very hard to come by..I'm hoping it frees up soon though.

I do have some options if you want info...Text me.

    • Because single shot injectors are ancient and multi hole injectors provide smoother running engines and sharper throttle response due to the fuel being atomized better..the best lead I have is a 24lb blue top injector almost everything matches up but the injector will put out about 26lb/hr which is just outside the gm threshold.figured id ask here to see if there was an absolute answer
    • Why is my question?   Any change in injectors requires a tune. Unless you are going back with the OEM part number or a newer part number of that same injector.   Any size difference or type difference like the EV6 style injectors all have different injector data for them. And there is no EV6 injector that matches the factory 25 lb/hr size that your truck comes with. I've been messing with these trucks and tuning them for a long time and what you trying to do doesn't exactly make sense to me.
    • My 6.6 gas lt8 had lifter noise with 28000 miles bought new 2026 and while driven to dealer it threw #1 rod bearing “HD my ass” good luck with yours i hope it don’t turn a rod bearing!
    • When a condition becomes a business model.    https://www.gm-trucks.com/gm-truck-suv-incentives-pricing-2026/   Zane posted this in "Latest Articles".    The honest bottom line   Truck buyers have spent three years assuming this is a temporary condition that will break once inventories normalize. GM just presented it to investors as a durable strategy, on a chart, as evidence of good management.   Inventory did normalize. GM is at 511,000 units and squarely inside its own 50 to 60 day target. The discounts still did not come back, because the low incentive number is the goal rather than a symptom of shortage.   Plan your purchase around that reality instead of waiting for it to change. Follow our ongoing GM News coverage for pricing and incentive changes as the next-generation trucks land.
    • Thought it was raining this morning when we woke. Nope. Dew point was over 80 F and humidity 98%. Zero visibility distance. Everything was 'sweating'. I've seen rain come out of clouds but never out of Pepper or the tree trunks.    Wicked storms just missed us sliding off to the east but by blocks. Heat index about 110 F with air temp in the 90's.    This is  our third wave this month of multiple days of this type of weather. And yet the grass is going dormant and the ground is cracking this side of the street and water up the the hood opposite. Just weird stuff going on.
