Long story short...I purchased the DiabloSport i2 programmer for my 2014 Silverado 5.3L 6spd trans Z71...I backed up my factory ECM and TCM tunes on the programmer and then refleashed with modified TCM changes....I then wanted to reprogram ECM but the programmer didn't seem to be working correctly...I called DiabloSport to assist and told them what I had done...Unfortunately for me, the tech support guy had me restore my programmer which deleted my factory tunes from my truck...Now when I try to reprogram my truck the i2 gives me an error saying it doesn't see factory code in the modules...I called DiabloSport...they told me to take the truck to a dealer to get reprogrammed (with an attitude)...I did, the dealer says they cannot reprogram because the Tech II thinks I have current revision code loaded?? Can somebody advise me on a solution to reprogram back to factory tune from GM?? Thanks!!

What they should have told you is to send the tuner with the ECM in to them so they can reapply it. I've had to do it twice. As for reprogramming, I'm not sure what to say. I know your warranty will most likely be voided though

This is where the Autocal is nice. Stock tune files live on your computer or flash drive

Don't worry. Anyone with HP Tuners can pull off a stock tune from the repository that HP Tuners hosts for members and put you back to stock in a flash. So pay someone $99 that's your local friend for the credits needed to tune your truck or find a better friend with unlimited credits for your model year. Here's the stock file.

You don't have a very smart dealership... for one, the MDI should be used to do this, not the tech2

Down the road, when you're running your i2 again... you can save a backup from the i2 device into a folder on your computer... it's seen by your computer as a thumb drive, just copy your whole i2 and back it up somewhere on your computer when you're back in business and have a factory restore saved again.

So it is possible? I found it hard to believe that it couldn't be done...they told me they couldn't re-flash because the files that are currently in my vehicle reports as factory / current revision (however, ecm is factory, TCM has been modified via i2), as a result, they cannot re-flash.....I'm a local shop owner and friendly with the local GM service manager and he is aware of why I need to re-flash back to factory tune...however he had (3) of his techs look at it and they all said they couldn't re-flash it??

So if I purchase the HP tuner package I can re-flash ECM/TCM with factory tunes? Even the 2014's? HP Tuners offers these binaries for a fee??

Yes. Yes. No

Yes. Yes. No

I should add that having HP Tuners without the intention of tuning yourself is a bit of a waste of money.
