I want some 16 lights now. Those look great! Anyone wanna buy some modified 14 lights? haha

Sorry I'm a little late, I've been in the Caribbean for a little over a week and just getting around to posting pictures. I know there was a lot of fuss of whether or not the SLT lights would so I bit the bullet and bought a used set to test. I got the lights and with the help of a fried who owns a 16 and you guys providing a pin out I was able to get the light working. The only issue I found was the DRL did not cut off when the turn signal was activated. Some may like this some may not. I however do not. When the sun is out full force and the DRL is at full brightness the LED turn signal is a little faint. Plus i'm picky and would like to stay close as factory options as possible. With all that being said I figured a switchback circuit inline with the adapter would cut the DRL off once the turn signal got power. Only problem is I have no clue how to build one so I reached out to GEN5 and they were more than helpful. I sent my light to Jarrod a little over 2.5 months ago and the process of building a harness began. For you guys that already have the SLT lights you can thank me later, JK. Anyways the harness for the 14-15 SLT is still being tweaked as its different from the SLE's but here you go.

Still have a couple kinks to work out but they work. Switchback circuit is being added and the parking lights should be off when the DRL is on during the day. No biggie Offer is on it as we speak.

Thanks for the pictures!

I know sometimes pics can be deceiving/lackluster though. In your opinion, how do the LED headlights compare to the OEM halogen ones? I'm just talking about low beams.

If I were to say that on a chart where 100% represented my ideal light output, then I'd put the stock lights at about 20%. Then with the bulb and bcm flash upgrade I'd say it was at 25%. When I switched to the spyder headlights and had halogen bulbs (PIAA xtreme white plus) it was about 40%. Then finally I switched to putco nite-lux LED bulbs and I'd say I'm at about 50% now. Where would you place these new led headlights?

Thanks

Josh

Theres no comparison. The LEDs blow the halogens out of the water. To answer your equation I would put them around 90%. I mean even brighter would be better but you can only get so bright without blinding oncoming traffic.

Well done, the truck looks so different. I love the lights in my '16 Silverado and its a relief not having to frig with a $50k+ truck from the factory for such an important factor like lighting.

I spent hundreds on my '14 Sierra to get mediocre output.

Thanks for this! I just ordered a set of the 16 LED headlights with a harness from GEN5. I appreciate being able to see what my final look is going to be like.

You don't happen to have any pictures comparing the light output do you?

Thanks

Josh

Where did you order the headlights from?

Anyone else know where to get a set of them for a good price?

Coming from a 2014 that had the BCM/Bulb update done and to a 2016 truck of the same exact configuration, I can tell you the new LED headlights and LED fog lights are a night and day difference over the previous headlights.

Try car-part.com if looking used. You can call the places and most of them will text you pics.

Totally agree the light output is great! In my opinion you can never have enough light.

    • I was the GM of a Lincoln Mercury dealership back in the 80's. The service lot was always full with "broken" ones. Plenty of transmissions, power windows and a/c repairs. The only one I'd consider owning would be the Marauder at this point and it certainly wouldn't be a daily driver.  My 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate is my "Lincoln Town Car" in my retirement. I want all the "stuff". Big infotainment screens, one touch power windows, Supercruise (I won't buy another vehicle without it), hands free pretty much everything. I'm going to swap my current truck for a 2027 Yukon Denali Ultimate so I can have the air suspension and surround vision recording along with all the other "stuff".
    • Yep mine is on backorder also.
    • The Denali Ultimate's grille is tinted, but the "regular' Denali has a bright chrome grille like the current models.
    • Because that is IDIOTIC, much like this question. They've already been forced to do it by past administrations - why would you roll that back when it's a GOOD thing?  WHO IS ARGUING FOR LOWER MILEAGE???? 😂  NOBODY IS!!   I'm certainly not! What I want is RELIABLE vehicles again that are worth the price paid!    I don't get your logic here ...   In 2003 I paid $2,200 for our '86 Grand Marquis. It's STILL running and I've never been inside the engine, aside for the timing cover since it was leaking, so I threw a new timing set in since that makes sense. Transmission is ORIGINAL. Electric pump in the gas tank is ORIGINAL. Rear end is ORIGINAL. I'd have to hit my head REAL hard to want to pay $60k or more for a car that still can't come close to the comfort, seating and storage space, or reliability of this one. Nothing is even in the ball park! Hundreds of thousands of brands and models have been built and sent to the crusher while this one keeps on going!   https://postimg.cc/Z9XRrCSg   I've got a whole fleet of cars, motorcycles, and a truck close to this age for summer and winter. No one could pay me enough to buy anything built this century. I have zero use for any it.
    • Since I'm the one who has to fix them when they break, I'll take vehicles over 30 years old all day, EVERY day, over ANY modern crap. Have you attempted any repairs on anything built after 2006? It's a friggin nightmare, and gets worse the newer the model year.    If I had the will or desire, I can make any car of any age outside of a Model T (I don't have THAT much will ...) just as powerful, comfortable, and have all the tech the new stuff does, and get pretty close in mileage, too. I prefer SIMPLICITY. The less the vehicle has, the less to fix WHEN it breaks, not IF.   I'm glad you snot-nosed punks don't like them. More for us, plus that keeps the prices from climbing more than they already have.👍
