Well, after attempting with multiple dealers to get this truck and finalize numbers it's finally here. Didn't get much of a chance to take photos with it as less than 24 hours after I got her I was helping my sister move. That didn't take long.

Nice looking truck. What do you have planned?

I've always wanted a blacked out truck so that's the plan. Debating between a 4-6" lift and 35s. New exhaust and tune, not sure on gears yet. I've heard back and forth if they are "needed". I'm gonna leave it with stock gears 3.42 to start and see if it feels terrible.

I'm not a fan of chrome so all that is leaving, planning on a new bumper and grill at some point, will probably plastidip till then.

Debadge, tint, and prob some underseat storage options. Also looking at doing one of those truckvault gun safe systems.

Well I finally got around to giving her a bath and snapping a few photos. As of writing she is dirty again from helping my uncle move and trips to the range.

I've debadged everything but the GMC logos on the front and back. Plan to leave the back on until I replace the grill then I'll take them both off. Got new Coverking seat covers installed. The fit is nice but not quite as well manufactured as I had hoped. Tight in a few sports and loose in others. The headrests are a joke but at least the seats are protected now and look great in my opinion.

Also got the windows tinted. 15% all the way around. Couldn't find anyone that had solid reviews that would agree to do 5%. At first I was a bit disappointed but after driving in the dark I think 5% may have made it too challenging to see on those dark back roads.

I think next I'm going to do Husky or Weathertech floor liners since hunting season is coming up. Leaning toward Weathertech as Cabelas has a deal on them and the points are a nice bonus. The next thing I want to do is make her growl a bit more. Eventually I want to add headers but I think I'll add a AirAid MIT and possibly catback. Totally up in the air about the catback at this point. I'd like something loud enough for the whole neighborhood to know I'm there but no drone in the cabin. Still need to research there. Also want to upgrade the reverse lights with LEDs to aid in rear visibility when backing up at night.

hey Penguin

just thought i'd give my 2 cents.... there is a thread somewhere that talks about the weathertech liners and lots of guys are not impressed. i opted for the chevy liners and i'm quite happy.

i was talking with a buddy of mine after hockey last night and he has the new weathertechs in his vehicles and said that he's not sure what happened, but the new stuff from them is crap and would not be buying them again

go with the husky liners, less expensive, fit great and are holding up awesome. my wife and I have 4 huskies and have the liners in both my truck and her Tahoe and they work great with all of the hair and dirt the dogs produce. really easy to clean and overall a really good product.

I looked at the gm ones. I didn't like that the back was a 2 piece. I'd prefer the single piece in the rear.

i hear you there... i only have the front seats so far. i think i would prefer 1 solid piece for the back seats too

The thing I did like about the GM ones is that it looked like it had a extrusion under the seats that helped keep an under seat storage box stationary. So that is a bonus. Just don't like the idea of dirt getting trapped between the covers and carpet. I plan to throw these in and only remove them twice a year to clean and remove any debris under them.

  • 7 months later...

Did this stuff a few weeks back but haven't had a chance to upload all the images. Got a 6" BDS lift installed, 20" Method NV wheels and 35" Toyo RT tires. Then because I needed to recal the speedo got a Black Bear tune (holy crap why did I wait?!) and installed tow mirrors because I smashed one of the factory small mirrors.
