GM dropping the chrome

The 2017 Gmc Sierra All-Terrains have no chrome on them. Color matched door handles and door moldings. Finally. Saw these on Laura gmc site.

I saw this on the Build and Price. Wish my 2016 I just picked up was the same. Good move by GMC.

My 2016 z71 has almost no chrome. Definitely like the look. I agree the chrome everything days are over.

Which makes you wonder why Denalis are selling so well. Looks like it plowed a field of chrome daisies.

Younger people like everything mono or black.

Older people like Chrome. Something for everyone.

The AT edition? The ultra cheap looking faux carbon fiber seats killed it for me.

When I was younger I loved chrome. Now at 36 I choose color matched. My opinion but chrome is flashy and when I was younger I got a lot of attention and chrome reflects well and looks awesome cleaned up.. my .02 not everyones

I agree. Should see the looks I get when I tell them they could of bought a work truck with all the black trim and saved a pile of money.

this decision has f.uck to do with the "young" demographic and everything to do with the "2016/2017 front clip looks like shit in chrome" demographic. GM wants to sell trucks to EVERYbody willing to pony up $35K+. problem is that nobody wants to shill out money for the current grille with chrome compared to the color match option so they'll ramp up production on trucks that will fly off lots.

I dunno, my C7 is white with black wheels/emblems/mirrors/spoiler and some younger people tell me it looks cheap and my truck is iridium with chrome wheels, door handles, mirrors etc.and some older folks say it has too much chrome and looks too flashy lol.

But yes, as long as they offer a choice its all good - buy/drive what you want. No matter what 50% or so of people are going to like it and rest will hate it so its hard to win :)

In your opinion maybe, but not mine! The 2016 GMC looks awesome chromed out. And judging by the dealers in my area, chrome is the seller, not the paint.

I like the look of color matched, but I'd buy chrome every time, especially if it's cheaper. The chrome gets messed up from rocks, but it doesn't show as much as as the paint does.
