So two things:

1. We have had some issues due to a host move of our website (while we develop a new badly needed upgraded site) that caused some issues with Email hosting and the order database. That said if you have an order number HIGHER than 1977 please email us a copy of your order email so we can manually add it back in so you get status notifications. Also if you have contacted us in the past 72 hours or so and NOT received a response its likely we did not get your email so please contact us again. I apologize for the inconvenience this is literally the first time this has ever happened.

2. We have updated the technical thread to include Diesel US spec part numbers.

Just want to give a HUGE shout out to PGamboa and Chris W. at WAMS for the successful retrofit.  I have a 2014 Silverado Z71 LT and was able to upgrade Navigation to the 2018 version along with the Blue Denali Dash.  All functions are working!

That's great! I did the swap in my 2018 SLT and is still my favorite MOD. Nice that you got the BLUE setup!!

Thanks man; the funny thing is that about a year ago, I purchased the RED Denali cluster prior to the announcement that Chris was able to retrofit the new blue ones into our older trucks.  I sat on the RED cluster and procrastinated so long that he was able to figure out how to do the Blue cluster lol so I sold the red one and bought the blue for the same cost.  I love this mod too!

Has anyone done this Denali cluster upgrade PLUS the MVI IO3 to IO5/IO6 CarPlay upgrade? I have a WAMS-programmed Denali cluster that now works independently of the newly installed IO5 CarPlay system (which also works great on its own) but I have no audio/media/phone info in the cluster.

I originally had a vinyl steering wheel without audio controls and I’ve upgraded to the leather with audio controls (I’ve added the necessary LINBUS wiring from the cluster harness to the clock spring harness so I have communication between steering wheel and cluster at least). I have also added the 5 MOST wires to the cluster harness but I cannot get the cluster to work with the HMI/Radio/CD (MOST) circuit.

I’ve tried wiring the cluster in the circuit in every imaginable combination of devices (Radio/HMI/CD) but I can’t get it all to work (I bought MVI’s harness kit for the IO3 to IO5 upgrade, sourced the remaining parts, and had WAMS program the HMI/Radio/Cluster at the same time). Tonight I even tried bypassing the CD player as I read a few hundred posts up how every device in the MOST circuit needs to be the same model year (CD player is 2015, everything else is 2016+) but no luck.

I’m working with a 2015 Tahoe PPV but I’m hoping there are enough similarities to a base model Silverado that somebody, anybody, may have already achieved this build.

And yes, I have read all 960+ posts in this thread as well as the 160+ posts in the “WT trim with Color DIC, Steering Wheel Controls, IO5 Stereo Retrofit” thread.

My world every night for the last week and a half is attached.644be988c75e8abe691c9d5dea82acf0.jpg

Any and all help greatly appreciated!

I’m happy to help you troubleshoot. We may want to take this to PMs to not get the thread off track. I do a lot of wiring on the suv platform like@pgamboa does on the trucks.

I understand you to say the cluster works fine and the radio/HMI/CD player works fine, there’s just no infotainment stuff on the cluster? As in you can select the audio & phone menus, but no options are in them? See pics of the cluster Chris programmed for my 15 SLT.

Also, what does MVIs harness kit consist of?

If and when you guys finish this up, can you guys post it up? I just like to see that when people have things like this, what the end result is...

I’m certainly happy to...especially if it helps other members. I’ll defer to the owner if he’s comfortable sharing.

Well, as it sometimes seems to go, it’s the “easy” things that can bite us. After hours and hours of troubleshooting and some serious above and beyond “service after the sale” from MVI, the culprit was found out yesterday. It turns out that the new pins I had added in the cluster harness did not have a good connection to the new wires to which they were crimped. (Had I taken 5 minutes to check continuity BEFORE I installed these....hindsight...)

Fortunately I had a second set of terminated leads already made up and after checking continuity on each of them (one of the new ones was bad too; thankfully I had one to spare) I proceeded to replace the original set and just like that we went from this...

To this...

Thanks to those who offered their assistance but just as those posts were made I was making those elusive final (re)connections. So yes, with the right amount of patience, prayer (literally), and professional help this ambitious build can be done.

Thanks again to Anthony at MVI for the harness kit and the rock star level troubleshooting help! (FYI: MVI offers pins with terminated leads for a very nominal charge. IF there is a next time for me I’ll be adding those to my order.)

Also thanks to Chris at WAMS for the seamless integration of the cluster, HMI, and radio and the necessary front end communication to ensure I was sourcing the correct parts.

If I can be of assistance to others, especially those with Tahoe PPV’s (this is #3 for me), please let me know.

Thats awesome. MVI is great. I have alot of their stuff in my truck as well. Its always the stuff you never think CAN be the problem, actually IS the problem.

Glad you got it working. GREAT JOB.

You found a sucker, sucker, sucker at that price!  I paid $269 shipped for my brand new one last weekend.  Already went to WAMS and is installed/good to go.  That buyer paid the difference plus an additional $100 for programming a used unit!  Congrats to you, you got top dollar for sure.
