I would NEVER BUY a crew or double cab.... that is a waste of space to me because i am the only person in my truck at anytime. I just wish they would have offered it with a 6.2 instead of me having to install it myself!

I agree soft tail ! Plus it gets me out of driving when going on trips ! I am like " someone else is going to have to drive because I can only fit 1 " ! ?

Had to order a 16 reg cab because you can't order a 17 yet.
My salesguy said the crewcabs sell better, therefore they are given preference

Does that mean you have a 5.3 laying around!

My previous truck was a 3 door double cab. Out of 14 years of ownership very rarely had a full passenger limit in it. Most often it is just me or me & wife in it. I went with a regular cab & love it. When I was a kid regular cab Silverados were all my father would drive, i lost him two years ago, so to me there is a little sentimental value in my regular cab. I enjoy the feeling in a regular cab truck, to me they are more fun to drive. Only problem is finding one that isn't white, stripped down for a job site. No profit for companies to make them much anymore, the demand is for crew & double cabs.

Thanks to all for calming my fears! My reg cab is leased and up for replacement in 2017, that is why I asked! Not for sure that I will get another one but if they did quit making them I would keep the one I have. I love this little truck but it did get hailed bad and repaired when it was new. The body shop did do a very good job but you all know how it is.

If I saw a 2017 loaded sle like mine is in the new Graphite grey color I would have to go for it again!

My regular cab Z71 might as well be a Unicorn going down the road. There are plenty of WT's but the LT's are pretty rare (at least around here). They just look and feel right to me.

I wonder what the ratio is? Regular cab to Crew cab?

They start building based on greatest sales... crew cab always first, double cab, single. And yes.. I'm surprised they even build single cabs anymore. I suppose they will be like a manual transmission soon.....gone.

True, Toyota stopped with the regular cab Tacoma after 2014 due to lack of sales.

My local Chevy dealer has 70 double cabs, 19 crews, and 3 reg cabs. They said they're the hardest to sell. There's no lease incentive on them like the double cabs.

I think loaded, all you can get in a reg cab, regular cabs are even more rare up here in Canada. But when I go to Phoenix for the winter I see tons of them as company work trucks down there! over my life I have had 6 regular cab trucks, 1 short box when regular cabs is all that was made. Crew cabs back then were only seen in a work truck hauling rail crews, etc.

Hopefully they continue the regular cab trucks in 2019 when the next generation Silverado comes out . If not I will just buy a 2018 . I built a 2017 regular cab with every option that my 2014 has and it came to 43,000. Ouch!!!! It is actually cheaper to by a double cab because of the rebates . The most you see off on a regular cab is 1,500 to 2,000.

Very small market for Regular Cabs these days. It costs too much money and hurts manufacturers CAFE metrics to produce certain vehicles, a regular full size is one of those models. They already discontinued the regular cab Tundra.

They did not discontinue the regular cab Tundra. That article is from 2014 and is just speculation.

I have a 2014 regular cab and plan on my next truck being a regular cab also . I did remember reading they planned on moving the crew cabs from Mexico to the Flint plant ? Anybody know when ?

They're adding capacity by using Flint. Unfortunately there is no guarantee you'll get a crew cab from there.

    • I found an odor eliminator spray that neutralizes unwanted smells pretty well. Using it with the car's AC running helps to distribute it evenly around the cabin.
    • WTI futures / speculation is just that. WTI futures <> current 4-7% inflation and national average gas price over $4.00/gallon.   The spot price, at delivery, is currently $87-$95/barrel which is why gas prices remain high.   Edit: oH mY gOd mEnTaL BrEaKdoWn In tHE pOsT aBOve mInE. • He does, actually. In another unrelated video he mentions the president called him in the middle of the night to relay some information on a cause (religious based) that he's invested in. Glenn expressed concern that another leftist administration could wield too much power with some procedure the Pentagon was using, classifying certain religions a certain way. Being that he is LDS (Latter Day Saints), he gets hate all the time from ALL over the political spectrum, so he's invested in this. Trump called him back at 5AM to tell him he had made some changes to that classification.   So, yes, they are and have been in contact regularly since the start of the administration. Glenn, of course, always asks his permission before discussing anything on the air.   I already spent an hour or more just searching for these videos. I may have my numbers wrong - I'm not a numbers guy. It may have been a MILLION barrels, not 1.5. The point is, our President, by his actions, gives a crap about America, and US - this is completely OPPOSITE the actions of the prior administration who projected hatred for anyone who wasn't following the left's edicts in lock-step.   Remember, they called January 6th an "Insurrection", when there were ZERO weapons among the crowd, undercover FBI agents agitating the crowd, along with paid leftists acting as aggressors, egging the crowd on in an attempt to whip everyone into a frenzy. It's all been proven.  Pelosi refused Trumps request for more National Guard troops. This smells 100% like an inside job for those with critical thinking skills. Only a handful of guys in the crowd got wrapped up in that, thankfully, but EVERYONE was searched out based on cell phone data, and charges were brought against many. And 6 or so people were locked up and left in solitary confinement for YEARS with ZERO due process!! If you give the slightest crap about our Nation, REGARDLESS of your political leanings, this should frighten you to your core. This is what men suffered, bled, fought, and died against 250 years ago!   This has gone FAR BEYOND left vs. right. This is a  threat to America, and our way of life. This is PRECISELY why Trump, a BILLIONAIRE who could have chosen to take Melania and sit on some tropical island that he could afford to buy himself and RELAX, instead chose to run for office, get hate from literally every corner of the media, get ATTEMPTS on his LIFE constantly, and begin to repair some of the severe damage that's been done to this Great Nation.   I don't know why I bother wasting my precious time here. Everyone has their minds made up. They won't realize we all were correct until it's too late ... after they elect another tyrant that hates America to office (Obama), or another puppet whose administration is secretly running the show behind the scenes (Biden).
    • Hello, Im in a bit of a bind maybe someone could help me out.  We towed our trailer, up a pretty steep incline (395 north of Bishop) done it before no issues. I got to our campground turn truck off, i restarted the truck about an hour later  and check engine light turns on. Found DTC P2C48,  unable to reset.  This morning i removed the plug, there's 12.12v at the plug. Reservoir near firewall is full of coolant, checked for leaks nothing. I dont hear or feel the pump turning on. My dilemma, is nearest dealer  is 4hrs away that has the pump instock. Is it safe to drive? By me checking the available voltage at the connector and not hearing/feeling pump turn on, is it a bad pump? Please help...
