I am. I changed the original oil around 2500 miles, and I have right around 8400 miles now, and 24% oil life left. I'll do another full synth oil change when the display tells me to.

I'm at 5200 miles right now on the factory oil and still have around 40% left on the oil life monitor. Oil is still up to level and still looks pretty clear and clean. Prob get mine done at 7500 miles and switch over to Mobile 1 full synthetic.

i would change my oil when the OLM was under 25%. Which was usually around 6500 miles

I run it till around 5% based on my OLM. I should probably change it sooner based on the amount of towing I do, but it usually will last me to just around 7500 miles, give or take a few hundred

Right now I am due for my third oil change according to my truck. But since I am running full synthetic that has a longer drain interval it isn't really do for about 20,000 more miles. But to keep Chevy happy and not give me any grief I will change let them change my oil with me providing the oil.

Once I am past the factory warranty period I am wondering how I can turn off that stupid system that makes me crazy telling me that I need to change the oil. It is so annoying. I know that people are stupid and don't know when to change their oil, but you would think that those of us that drive a truck are a bit more technical than most people.

Debra, your oil change is not due for another 20,000 miles? how many miles do you plan on driving between oil changes? I change mine at 5000 miles with Mobil 1 full synthetic just to be safe, big v-8 with a lot of moving parts and very thin oil used now days.

We have debated this one......10,000 miles on Full Synthetic with a synthetic decent oil filter i.e 10.00-12.00 bucks and your golden for 10,000 miles. It's that simple people.............I can put 5 miles on in 2 months so what's the point?

8000-10,000 miles full synthetic with a premium filter, after having 2 oil analysis done. The OLM was usually right about 8000 miles so not too bad in my opinion. This was in my previous 07 & 2013 GM gas vehicles. For the Diesels, I'm still figuring out the baseline, have to send in another oil analysis before I decide. I'm going strictly off the OLM for now. But I am able to get a $50.00 oil change for my Duramax at my repair facility which uses Mobil Delvac 15W40 & a Napa Gold filter, so I am quite happy regardless.

Remind me to never buy a used truck from you...

I am impressed that is a killer deal son! If I could get that and I actually pulled something with my truck I would have me a Dura!

When we were Amsoil dealers in the 90s after the warranty period we would go 25K miles or one year, change the filter at 12K. On our ROW equipment we double the hours from 200 to 400 hrs. Their synthetic hydralic oil save a lot of pumps when we would have a hose fail. We did the oil analyzing and had no engine problems. I don't know if amsoil still goes that extended anymore but with my 06 Trailblazer SS using Mobil one it was 12-15 K oil changes per factory specs.

Funny story my Hundai dealer tells me I have to get my oil changed at 3700 mile becouse of the Texas heat. I ask how does the engine know how hot it is when it has a thermostat and engine temp stays the same? I get a blank stare. I can't wait for October when the temp drops and I ask if we can go by the normal drains at 7500 miles. If I keep it past the warranty I go full synthetic and extended drains.

They have done test in N.Y. city on taxi cabs with regular oil and synthetic, tore them down...and guess what? They pretty much looked the same. I have never used full synthetic and never had one bit of problems. And I keep all my vehicles at lest 8-9 years. I kinda think it is a waste of money. Just my Option.
