Htd/cooled seats 2015 versus 2017

2 questions please. I have currently a 2015 dbl cab LTZ Z71 with htd and cooled seats. Ordering a 2017 like vehicle.

 

1. Is the cooling of the seats similar or sub par from the 15. I know they changed the way they are cooled but since I use that option a lot hoping it was at least as efficient

2. Ordering a Max tow 6.2. If you special ordered your truck appx how long did it take?

I think they are every bit as good as my '11 was

They work good at first. Mine failed though after 11,000 miles. The replacement didn't work, and I still have a bad vibration in the back of the seat. I think it was mechanic error though. I do feel that when they get it fixed It'll be working great again.

 

I love my max tow 6.2l. They goofed up my ordering and it took from Dec to June to get mine. Others are getting theirs in 6-8 weeks. Worth every single penny I pay a month for the max tow 6.2l.

The heated seats in my 2016 work better than my 2014 if this helps.

 

They also come on with the remote start now the 2014 didn't heat up unless there was a butt in the seat.

I am with BigBadSierra, they seem to work better in my 2016 compared to my 2014. the heat feature is a lot better, and the seats do have a much cleaner look on the backs without the plastic cover for the exhaust vents.

I don't like how they removed the plastic backing on the 2016+ seats. Sucks having kids in the back who kick the seats. The heat and cooled work well on my 2014 but suck with remote start.

Having only heat in my 14 I can't compare the cooling feature. If I was to order a truck I'd only get the heat feature though. I was expecting the cooling to be better but, it seemed they only worked good after the days started getting cooler temp wise 70-80 instead of 80-90. The heat feature is better though.

never had a 14 but my 17 seats heat and cool well so far

16 and up are 'heated and ventilated'.

 

I find the ventilation on this 16 works better than the cooling did on the 15.

 

Seems to move more air and seems to cool the seat (and the butt) quicker.

 

The heater also works much quicker than the 15.

my 2017 vented seats seem to work the best when I have the A/C on and on the floor, i'm not sure where the air inlet is for the vented seats but I would assume under it, If i run the A/C pretty high and on the floor I feel it alot more in the seat rather than when it is through the dash vents. If i run the dash vents I don't seem to feel much until the whole cabin cools down quite a bit.
