If the cylinder wasn't scored it would be a shame but it needed sleeving anyways lpl

I just wanted to go back to your statement about driveshaft rpms. If your trans shifts at about 6000rpm of motor speed then in 4th gear at 1:1 ratio your driveshaft is at 6000 rpms. 6000 rpms in overdrive.... say .5:1 your shaft would hit 12000 and probably reside elsewhere. Anyway I dig what you're done to your truck and will follow your build. Btw I have a Strange chromoly 3.5inch shaft in my TransAm. It's rated at 1200hp and 9000rpms.

I wish. Also I did the whole turbo diesel thing (Cummins) doing mild stuff about 10 years ago at the infancy of the diesel power world, I made 617rwhp and over 1200 torque. Nothing compared to todays rigs

Your data is correct although I'm not sure but think the 8l90 has no 1:1 exact on the nose correct me if I'm wrong

I also want to state that I know you wouldn't/couldn't be at 6grand in overdrive but my point is still valid. And my at the time wife had the first year X5. You are a younger version of me. Ha

Also one more thing. The rpm of the driveshaft will differ from the engine even in a 1:1 situation due to the fluid coupling. That is unless you are doing a full throttle converter locked shift into 7th lolol.

Cool thanks for looking that up for me. Got the truck back and it's doing well aside from the fresh air hoses that were barely pressed on the valve cover. -

Got home and went to install my driveshaft...

Doh!!! The stockers are 1410 not the 1355 I had read. My new shaft has 1350's so I had to make a compromise I really wish I didn't have to do and ordered some 1350 to 1410 conversion joints.

Just wanted to keep anyone else.from making the same mistake

I really don't want to go into my diffs until I have some parts to go with. May just pay to have the shaft recut.

You guys think I can get away with changing the yoke and zipping it back together with an impact and call it done instead of replacing the crush sleeve?
