Quiet catback exhaust that doesn't drone!?

Thinking abt getting a catback exhaust for my '17 6.2 sierra..


Whats your take on different catback exhausts? I dont want something loud.. definitely not something that drones on the hwy.. but id like a little more rumble then stock. at least on the outside of the truck.. dont want to hear much in cab.

In the past on my sports cars ive liked borla and magnaflow

Thoughts? Thx

Borla seems to be the safest bet for not having drone issues although I installed a Flowmaster a couple months ago and don't have any drone at all with it. Of course I bought the quietest muffler Flowmaster they make. After tons of research and owning quite a few trucks I can't see where a cat-back is really worth it( on today's trucks at least). I would probably just swap out the muffler for one with your sound preference and leave the resonator on.

Anyone running borla?

 

 

I'm running Borla S-Type on my '15 Silverado (the non-GM Borla). I absolutely love it and noticed a great improvement right away. It's not actually that loud in the cab but outside you can really notice it. Added a CAI and it has made it even meaner :)

Don't hear Gibson exhaust mentioned on this site much, mostly Borla, Flowmaster and Magnaflow. I had a 5" x 8" x 18" Magnaflow on my '05 Avalanche with the 5.3, had terrible drone. Drove it for about 3 months before putting a stock exhaust back on.

TT I highly recommend replacing the stock muffler and flapper valve with a Magnaflow 12909. Fits perfect and has the sound you are looking for. Best part cost $155 including the labor.

No I just installed the muffler only. Part no. 53553. It's 3-1/2" in and out. Plus the inlet/ outlet are in the right place.

Thanks. Did you keep the flapper in use?

 

Actually it shows offset/offset. I looked under my rig and it is offset in / center out.....

I should clarify that was on my 2011 6.2. pre- flapper production. I havn't looked into a exhaust or muffler for my '15 6.2 yet.
