Just wanted to send a big thank you to Phil for providing the community with his resources. I purchased a set of Syppo tow mirrors for my 2017 Sierra SLE, and Phil's DIY kit. Shipping from Phil was fast, instructions were straight forward. I started with the passenger side, took me about an hour or so from start to finish, then about 15 minutes on the driver's side. With his DIY kit, each door harness is required to be removed, then Phil's kit wired in and pinned in the door & mirror connection. I also installed the diodes for the bcm mod, that took about 30 seconds. Phil was quick to reply to a couple text messages I sent throughout the process to confirm the direction was going. I would not hesitate to work with him again in the future.

@pgamboa I want to upgrade my standard mirrors to the tow mirrors. I have an LTZ 1500. It has all the options for the mirrors, puddle lamps, power fold , memory, Dimming etc. I have only read through some of your stuff, so I'm not sure what all your kit will control. Will your kit control everything that the LTZ 1500 has?

Need to know your year to understand the upgrade path.

@pgamboa it is a 2015

Ok. I’ll need you to verify your door jamb connector and see if you have pins 9 and 11 on the cabin side of the connector. These are the cargo light and running light circuits.

On all 2014 and some early 2015 trucks, these circuits are missing. For mid year 2015, they are present.

So let’s start there.

Does not have to be GM mirrors but has to have the correct pinning of the wires in the mirror harness.

I build harnesses for any tow mirror. :). As long as the maker follows the factory wiring pinout.

@pgamboa I saw in a previous post that you can get the tow mirrors a little cheaper than what I've found. I have a midnight edition and want the black mirrors. How much can you get the black mirrors for?

I went with the AM auto with chrome caps that have every function, including power fold and memory.

i only paid $399 for mine since they were on sale for $499 and  I had a 20% off eBay coupon.

Do the plugs on these mirrors plug into the harness in the door? Also what are the three wires with barrel connectors for?

Yes and no. The main 18-Pin Plug will... but the 3 wires... 2 of them are landed into the connector But the 3rd doesn’t. The 3rd wire is a running Lamp wire and it is presumed that
You are hardwiring this along with any new lighting features you don’t have.

With my harnesses, I correct all that and provide the pigtails needed so that you don’t have to Hardwire it.

I recently bought a 2015 2500HD with the DPN tow mirrors on it. I know this is going to sound backwards, but I actually want to put a standard size mirror on it. What all would I need to do as far as wiring to swap my DPN mirrors for a DL3 mirror? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
