This is how we achieve Key Fob Fold. [emoji4]. Using an aftermarket fold module that intercepts the lock/unlock, fold/unfold circuits.

I need this in my life! What's the details on what to order?

Depends on what you want to achieve. If I were you I would go to the first page on this thread and do some reading. From there I would probably contact@pgamboa with your truck info.(year, trim, what mirrors you have now, what mirrors you want to upgrade to)

***UPDATE*** - Just exhausted a 1,000 count bag of zip ties! Each harness takes 2 zip ties, so if you do the math, I’ve built/Shipped 500 Harnesses! Thank you for the support!

Also - I am SOLD OUT! I may have 1-2 harness sets left and unsure of when more are coming. Please check with me on lead times before ordering.

Thanks!

pgamboa,

I have a late 2015 silverado LT crew cab with DL8 mirrors.  Also have an fold ready arm rest switch set.  Looking to put tow mirrors on, probably from a1 auto, not sure which part#.  I want, black, texture, smoke lens, led, cargo, puddle lamp, turn sig features, and power fold ok, but not critical.  Will i need your harness?  I so, how soon can I receive?  Which a1 auto part # works for above and uses your harness?

Thanks for what you do here!

Thanks! If you want the Puddle Lamp, that model is and has been sold out for about a month now.

They have a power Folding model that is still in stock. With the 1A mirrors, their mirror connector doesn’t come PnP out of the box. There are 2 wires that don’t land into the connector. So we have to think about provisioning that.

As for harnesses, I have 1-2 sets left. If you purchase a Set today, I can guarantee shipment out tomorrow.

If power Fold is not critical, you can get part #

It’s $295 for this set and I won’t need them in my possession. You’ll just need a set of my PnP Harnesses.

Let me know.

Thanks,

Phil

Phil,

Puddle lamp wasn't that big of deal for me.  I just ordered the set you recommended, what to do at this point to order your harness?

No owrries on any adjustments to your harness as needed from me, as long as its's clear what I need to do.

Thanks!

P.S.  I'm willing to let go of the harness set I remove from the truck. Is that something you still use / need as a core?

Good deal. I do offer a core refund on the stock harnesses. PM me for more information to move forward. Need to gather specifics on your truck.

I recently had the tow mirrors from my 2015 Chevy 1500 LTZ (totaled in wreck) to my new 2017 High Country 1500 (came with standard full function mirrors).  Everything works on the mirrors except the clearance lights and the backup lights.  The clearance lights burn when the doors are unlocked with key fob and when doors are opened when the lights are activated by the sensor, but not when the lights are turned on.  Is there a programming step that will tell this truck that it has tow mirrors?  Or some other remedy?

Just so I understand...

On your 2015 LTZ, you had Tow Mirrors?  If so, were they power folding?  If power folding, then those are DQS Mirrors.  If they are not power folding, then they are DPN Mirrors.

You then took these DQS or DPN Mirrors and installed them onto your 2017 HC truck that came with power folding, non-towing mirrors?  If so, these are DL3 Mirrors.

Your behavior sounds like to took Tow Mirror onto a Truck that came with DL3 Mirrors.  It also sounds like you didn't swap your harnesses either.

The reason your clearance lamps are activated by unlocking the doors and only at night, is because the harnesses you have (stock) are pinned for DL3 mirrors.  Puddle lamps are pinned to pin #1 on the DL3 Mirror.  Pin #1 on the Tow Mirror is the Clearance Lamp.  This is the reason that harness need to be swapped out when changing mirrors.

There is NO programming/flashing to fix this.  This is a physical wiring difference between DL3 Harnesses and Tow Mirrors.

I can fix this by getting you a set of PnP harnesses.  Simply swap the harnesses out, and you'll be good to go.  PM for more information.

Thanks,

Phil

You have it right.  The mirrors were/are power folding.  We did not change the wiring harness.  Where do you get them, what do they cost, and what is involved in changing them.  Thanks, FF

Fred, the harness sets are $225 shipped.  I can have a set shipped as soon as tomorrow.  I build/ship about 4-5 harnesses per week.

I also offer a $40 Core refund if you send me your stock harnesses so I can do this for next member.

Sorry, but you may have noticed I am a novice on this stuff.  Does the harness you build have one plug on each end, and where do the ends connect.  My body man that switched the mirrors actually got some harnesses from GM, but they did not have plugs on the end.  He didn’t want to tackle that.

How do I make the purchase?

    • Progress... sort of.   Intake is disassembled, spider is out, fuel lines removed. Used a torch on the stripped screw with the lower intake off, much easier when I've got the intake sitting on my workbench, I made it talk. Walked right out with a pair of vice grips once it was nice and toasty hot.   New parts are piling up on my service cart waiting to be installed. Distributor, temperature sensor, new gaskets, fuel line kit, themostat, water neck.   My new pickle is I don't want to spend $600 on a replacement spider. I'm not sure IT is bad. I'm probably splitting hairs. Or it's $300 to send mine away and another 3 weeks of the truck just sitting. I have half a mind to assemble everything with the old spider to see if I can get away with just replacing the fuel pressure regulator to be safe. The obvious issue was the gushing high pressure fuel line which will be replaced. Getting to the spider really isn't that hard, and now I know what I'm doing , swapping it would be a breeze should it absolutely need one. Stupid, or smart?   The part that gives me pause is replacing the distributor. Well, it's already out. And I didn't mark it, whoopsie! Engine was at TDC when I removed it, I know that, so upon correct reinstall the metal tip on the rotor should point to the TDC mark on the distributor because that's where it was pointing on the old distributor. Worst case I'm a tooth off and have to re-stab it.   But then, what? I assume the truck will start. It doesn't appear the timing can be set. Here's the problem: These distributors can't be rotated but a degree or two, by design. What I read is Cam ****** needs to be -2 to +2 degrees, ideally at 0 (and checked/set above 1000 rpm). There should be enough wiggle to get that properly set, but checking the reported value is another potential issue. My Actron 9185 scanner says it supports enhanced GM PIDs and Cam ****** is one of them but it's unclear that I'll be able to correctly see it over OBD 1.5. I can see why people end up junking these things with life left in them. They're an absolute nightmare with tweener-year diagnostics/electronics and unobtanium parts.   Fingers crossed it starts and idles nicely. There can be hope, right? I'ma buy a lottery ticket the same day just in case.   Next steps..DO IT. I have not installed an intake before so I've been reading and watching a lot. Some say NO RTV except on china walls, some say DO RTV on water ports but not fuel/air intake. 1/4 or 3/8 bead on China walls? I think my strategy will be, obviously, RTV china walls with overlap on the gasket corners. Chapstick-style RTV the water ports. Leave intake ports dry. The only set of intake gaskets I could find locally are Edelbrock performance gaskets (uh...for an asthmatic 190hp V6? LOL) so we'll see how they do.   #NoToolLeftBehind. It took an hour, but my recovery mission for my deep 10mm socket was successful. It had rolled down the bellhousing and wedged itself between what I think are the fuel lines? I couldn't see it at all, but with a junk antenna I had laying around, I blindly went poking/sweeping for it, heard it clink, raised the truck, and caught a sliver glimpse of chrome with a flashlight way up there in Narnia. I had pushed it farther along the lines holding it captive, but within access of severely improvised tools, poking and cursing at it to finally knock it free to where I could get a fingertip on it to bring it home.    Not much to see.
