BakFlip MX4

Anyone have this cover? I just bought the Undercover Flex and am not really that happy with the build construction so I'm now looking to get the MX4. Guy at work has the MX4 and it appears to be very well made and I also love the fact that you can close the tailgate with the cover down. Anyway, I'm looking for the best price on one of these but can't seem to find the prices I've seen folks paying in other forums. They list on pretty much every site for $899 but lots of folks saying they paid $750ish for them. Anyone else get this kind of deal?

Thanks in advance

I just purchased it off of Craigslist. I paid $650 for mines. I sold my old bak cover and paid a few dollars extra. Take a look on Craigslist or Facebook listing. There are deals out there, you may to wait a little while. The cover is better than the original bak. It is lighter and I like you don't have to have the gate up to lock it.

Thanks for the input on the Bakflip MX4. I just ordered one from Lori over at https://www.tonneaufactoryoutlet.comfor my 2017 Silverado and she matched the price quoted in this thread. I also tried contacting https://www.autoaccessoriesgarage.com and they wanted $50 more for the same cover.

I had purchased a Lund Hard Tri-fold on Amazon for my 2017 Silverado (~$550) and had to return it. I've had a Lund Soft Tri-fold on my 2003 Silverado since 2003 and it still looks great and keeps the bed dry. The new Lund Hard Tri-fold didn't fit right and looked cheap on the truck. The new Lund covers are not built as well as the Bakflip products.

Reviving old thread I know ... but looking at MX4 and best pricing I could find is $836 with rebate for bakbox 2. Hows market looking? Also how is the MX4 holding up for you all? I will try a few suggestions from this thread $705 would be a great price.

I contacted the company and the promptly sent a replacement, this one fits right and am pleased with it. Personally I think all of the covers no matter what brand are overpriced. I did get the MX4 for $705 delivered, best price I have seen anywhere

Did they sent you an entirely new panel?

I got mine at Line-X (so rebranded under their Truck Gear line) and although mine's pretty watertight I noticed theres not a ton of overhang on the front and back.

I am not happy with my MX4. The rubber seal around the edges peeled up after only 2 weeks. I have had to get new rails twice now due to fitting issues. The supplier has worked with me in trying to make it right but time will tell....

call the factory they will replace whole cover. Do not go through the supplier

BGM, I had the same problem with my second set of rails and second cover. I emailed my supplier and they mailed me another set of rails. They work better but not great. The problem is the first panel on the cover is too deep which makes the rails too long. If I remember correctly, my first covers initial panel was 4” long and the second one was 6”. I am not impressed with backflip. I ended up giving up hope with replacement parts and this second covers seal is also separating... their quality control in non existent. Shoot my inital order came with rails about a whole foot shorter than my bed length...

Not to pile on, but I'm disappointed with the customer service from BakFlip as well.

I bought my cover from 4WP last September....when I opened the box to install it one of the bed rails was bent.  I reached out directly to BakFlip and they FedEx'ed me a new set of rails.

Fast forward 10 months and the cover is falling apart....the outside finish is pitted and peeling.  I sent pics to BakFlip again and was told that "I need to video myself removing and destroying the cover before they will send me a new one."  ?????????????  I asked them if that meant I was supposed to drive around for a few days with nothing while they shipped me a new one and they said "yep".   Not happening.......

so they are willing to send you a brand new cover to make things right if you simply destroy the old one. Sounds like they are trying to work with you
