You probably pinched the wiring in the harness and shorted it. That is what happened to mine. I was able to fix the harness and route in better after the repair.

I’ll take a look thanks

So at this point, does someone have a definitive list of OEM part numbers to be able to ADD this to the SLE 2016 Yukon XL that didn't come factory installed?

I know it needs a new harness since there is no 12V plug back there to plug in the wireless module (I opened and verified this).

I guess I'm looking for the module number, harness number, OEM trim pieces for the MAT, and whatever else is needed.

Can anyone help me with that?

Thank you.

The module is compatible for any vehicles that have wireless charging. Module part # is 13521066. If your console already has wireless charging, you’ll just need the module and adapter harness. If you need those two items, I stock them.

If you are trying to retrofit this into a console that doesn’t have wireless charging, that may be a different path. You’ll need a lid that supports it.

I make a harness that T’s off the rear 12V plug for $45. Plugs inline to the 12V plug harnesses.

Lastly, not all charging mats fit the lids.

I assumed my lid could just be remove the non ribbed mat and put in a ribbed mat and the charging module and harness. Is that not the case? It seems so from all the videos I see of people opening it up....the mounting pems are there, just no module.

I am looking for the OEM harness so that when charging is working the lightning bolt shows up on the screen, that needs the harness trigger wire in the OEM harness for that to happen.

I can do all the work, just need to know what PN of that harness should be to do it. I can't get a clear answer on the PN of an SLE trim that has wireless charging to buy that part. Many don't show the proper image of it either....so I'm hoping someone who's BTDT might know.

The 12v is the easy route, but I'm looking for a true OEM retro install....if I had taken the time to research SLE vs SLT vs Denali, I would have ensured to get a truck with it in.....unfortunately, it was an impulse buy and not enough research done to make a proper decision, so ultimately my fault.

As an FYI, in my 93 vette, I installed OEM FX3 ride control and LTPWS, so I understand what it takes to make this change and ensure proper wiring is in place to cover all the bases.

TY for the fast response.

The lightning bolt icon that shows up will only work if you had it before. I added all the wiring in my truck include that indicator icon and it didn’t work. Likely because the BCM is not “enabled” to show that icon.

I don't mean to hijack this thread swapping console lids and wiring, but just got my 18 LTZ and it already comes with the wireless pad.  Does it only work with certain phones or is there a certain setup needed to get it to work?  I have an LG android and it didn't seem to do anything when placing it on the mat.

Thanks

If your using an iPhone, it works on the 8 and up.  I believe it's the same on most the android phones as my Samsung Galaxy 8 has it and not the previous version.

The iPhone 8, 8 Plus and X all support wireless charging, but you can add it to any older model with a Lightning port. Here's how to add wireless charging to the iPhone 7 and older phones. If you buy an iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus or iPhone X, you'll find it supports Qi wireless charging out of the box.

Salesman pointed out I have wireless charging although I did not have a phone that supported it. Now that I have a phone that supports wireless charging I have tried and found that I am not getting a charge, and the pad is not big enough for a iPhone XR. I opened up the consol lid and removed the inner cover to find there is no module or wiring, just the pad built into the consol. Next time I buy a car, I will open the hood to make sure the engine is included with the body....

So the work around is a 12v usb plug in pad that sits on top and covers the OEM pad.

Works great with a case on the phone and looks good. $25 on Amazon.

I just purchased a 2017 Sierra and the wireless charging doesn't seem to kick in on my Pixel 3.  I have tried moving it around slowly on the pad with no luck.  Also tested with and without the case.

When I look at the compatibility list on the website I see Pixel 3 is not listed.  Is this true?  Will the updated charging kit fix this?

My Pixel 3 in an OtterBox charges just fine in my 2017.
That is interesting. I test drove 2 2017s and a 2016 and non of them would charge it. I wonder if it some setting on my phone or something.

What does this kit provide for you over what is in the truck already? Or is this kit only for those that don't have wireless charging in their truck?

I have a 2017 Sierra, would this fix my pixel3 charging issue?

    • Hello hello looking forward to expanding my knowledge of the 2026 2500 HD that I just bought.   Truck has 3500 miles on it four-wheel-drive crew cab and I’m about to put a 6 1/2 inch BDS lift on it 18 x 10 -25 offset with 37’s   Already have the wheels and tires just waiting on the lift install in about three weeks   Question what surprises am I not gonna be happy with?  I’m not new to lifted trucks so I know that acceleration towing gas mileage all that is affected..   Question is those of you that have this truck this powertrain with a 10 speed Allison and have done the mods that I’m doing,,, how bad is it? Is that Allison constantly gonna be hunting for the right gear to go into? And what about towing, acceleration, fuel consumption as mentioned?    Lastly how come I can’t find any ring pinion gear set up for these axles and when could I expect to see them?   I apologize if there’s any typos I’m doing speech to text on my iPhone.
    • I've got a 2013 2500 6.0L Flexfuel. Drove the truck earlier today with no issues. Went to run an errand tonight and noticed key fob wouldn't work. Figured battery was dead, so replaced fob batter. Still wasn't working. Grabbed my other set of keys with the other fob and that one wasn't working either. So I manually unlock truck and insert key. Interior lights come on, dashboard lights up, turn key and truck starts. Turn truck off, like a moron, and try starting again. This time no crank, no click, no nothing. Lights still come on and dash lights up, but now I'm getting a service 4wheel drive, service tire monitor, etc. Check voltage on battery and Im showing 12.2v. Throw my battery charger on it and give it 15 mins and try starting again. But still no crank no start. Decide maybe its a bad battery, run to autozone grab a new one and put it in. Same issue. Disconnect battery and let it sit for 15 mins. Try again and still nothing. I had managed to roll the windows down earlier as its a humid night, but now I can't get them to roll up. Power locks are also not working now. Then randomly I try the key again, and it fires right up. Immediately I roll up the windows as we have nothing but rain forecast this week. I shut it back off wait 30 seconds and start up again. Worked a 2nd time. So turn it off, start putting things back together. Try one more time, and back to no crank no start. And now the car alarm starts going off. Had to disconnect battery and leave it that way for the night as I don't think my neighbors would appreciate my alarm going off again tonight. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

    • Hi there.  Long time lurker, first post.    i have read the previous posts regarding the water ingress problem with this emblem.  I bought my 1500 SLT the  summer of 2025 new and after reading the MANY problems with these emblems failing I decided to install one anyways.  As per a YouTube video, I sealed ( or tried to) this sign with silicone sealant around the outer perimeter joint and the holes that were already somewhat sealed on the rear plate of the emblem.  And installed the connector assembly using dielectric grease on the connectors. The installation looked great and worked well for about 4 months……then FAILURE.  Grrrrrr…… I live in the great white north and wash my truck weekly in an automatic car wash  to keep the salt off.  Let me tell you that removing the old, failed emblem is a whole different animal than removing the OEM individual letters without removing the grill assembly. Mainly because the illuminated logo is built differently than the original letters which  you can remove the red surface lettering with a knife or some kind of blade which gives access to the tabs which hold the logo onto the grill. So I had to essentially destroyed the old emblem to remove it. Doing so killed my chance of doing somekind of autopsy on the failed , old logo.  But there was plenty of water inside when I ripped it apart.  Prior to installing the new assembly I tried it with the old harness and it works fine.   Does anyone have any insight as to where the water is getting into this emblem? I intend to seal the new logo with slow curing epoxy this time around using a syringe.  I think this newer emblem may be an updated unit which I hope GM got the vendor to fix. It has an October 2025 date on it.    If this one  fails,  I am just going to revert back to the non-illuminated letters….AFTER PULLING THE GRILL.    Any thoughts on sealing with epoxy would be appreciated. Thx!   Doug
