Hello All!

Ok I just bought my 17 year old a 1994 k 1500 4x4 Ext cab and the motor is a 383 stroker. I'm gonna list everything that has been done and all info came directly from the long time owner.

My question is that after any of your gear heads  read what all the motor has I'm looking for suggestions on what upgrades I can do to the motor.

Hey is what all has been done to it.....

its a 2 bolt

383 scat crank

.40  over keith black claimer pistons

Total seal gapless rings

The rotating assembly is all balanced

reworked stock rods

The heads came off a crate motor

z28 vaive springs

Jet performance chip.

MSD coil and wires.

NGK spark plugs.

shorty flowtech headers.

B&M electronic shifter.583a398e03faa1a816445b0961cfcd34.0.thumb.jpg.025725cb1261730c6faa1eec5a1de968.jpg

4.10 gears

The guy who built the motor told me it was "built tight" So anyway, Any suggestions or info you all might have would be GREATLY appreciate.

Change ALL the fluids, paying close attention to the differentials, transfer case and transmission.  And make sure junior does all the work!  This way he'll learn to appreciate it before he tries to blow something up in youthful ignorance!

We have done all that day 1 and when I say we I mean I watched while he worked, Thank you for the advise.

Awesome.  Well, do you have the cam specs?  You could do long tube headers and a higher stall torque converter but you still want it nice to drive and be able to pass every other pump.

Thanks for the input swathdover and for some reason my phone is not uploading the pic but if you will Google "camshaft part# 12-242-2 that's the cam it has..

compression ratio, head chamber size, head part numbers?

"crate motor" heads span 60 years.

jet performance chip..is it still TBI?

that TBI is dying to breathe on that big motor.

given the classic numbers you have, go big four barrel. Regulate the factory pump.

I use 15psi on a subaru carbed.

..and nice truck. the xcab is my favorite.

not to veer off. Your nickname caught my attention.

I learned in recent weeks I have an older brother by the same parents.

they were very young lovers in the 60s.

We are all in our 40s.

my father has 3 sons. :)
