Deals on 2018's?

To speed things up lay the cards on the table. There’re not stupid, if you show up with a 4 year old vehicle or newer they know your trading in. You need to do your research going in, know your trade in value and the deals offered generally on new. Start looking early learn when the deals are common in your area. In my area there’re starting now and get better in September and really good in December. There’s always the longest on the lot that’s good most anytime and usually what I buy or CPO.

Two months ago everything was 25% off. You can bet you will see that again with the new models coming out.

When I was shopping $60,000 High Country's were $44k.

Just wait !

Going to be hard to find a 2018 or 2019 (same body style) double cab with a 6.2;L in stock. I just looked at Laura and of 187 in stock 2018's, none have a 6.2L engine.  You are going to have to pay the price if you want the 6.2L.

Btw, they have twelve 2019 new body style Denali's in transit.  A few are 6.2L but most seem to be 5.3L.

No doubt. My dealer has several 6.2 crew cabs in stock but the double cab 6.2s are gone.

I just bought a new truck 7/31.  I've wanting a truck for a LONG time and have been falling the market, sales, etc.  Deal was so good was so good end of the month I had to pull the trigger.  18 1500 LT All STAR Z71.

Sticker:  $46,520.....I paid $$34,497 Out the Door, no trade, no money down.  Saved $12,023 off the sticker.  Pretty pumped about that!

It's different geographically.  I'm in NH but the discounts last month were huge, looks like it's already changed for August.  Still, I think you should be able to get AT LEAST 10k off that truck, probably more.

Look at all the dealers Websites. Usually the huge dealerships that sell alot of volume, have the best prices and advertise them.  If you know what you want, no reason to go to the dealership.  Spend a couple of days doing business over the phone.  Tell them "I know what I want, no it's just a matter of calling around and getting the best price, so give me your best bottomline"  Usually they'll give you a good price off the bat.   Call around to 3 or 4 dealers and get the sales people calling you back.  Let them know you're ready to buy.  Over the next day or 2, they will all be calling you back multiple times with lower and lower prices.  There are a ton of incentives for these guys to move these 2018's.

Also, I hate trade ins.  if you have to trade, make sure that you get a best bottom line, before you tell them you have a trade.  Once you get your best bottom price.  Say "you've given it some thought and you might trade your truck in.  If you do the deal and trade together, it's get's confusing and gives them more places to make you "think" you're getting a good deal, when really they are just screwing you on one end to make the other end look sweeter.

If you can, I'd try to sell your truck privately.  More work but well worth it.  Especially a truck with alot of value like yours

Your tradeIn must be a low value vehcile if they are squeezing you so hard on the new truck price?

My motto is to never buy a new vehicle at any less than 20% off MSRP.. If you have a CarMax close just run by and get an appraisal from them for your tradein vehicle, that would be the wholesale cash out price. That gives you a good starting point. You will of course want to do all the online KBB / Edmunds etc calculators too for comparison. Anyway lets say you get a 15k cash offer from CarMax you will still have to check your sales Tax situation to see if the math comes out better selling straight out in a private sale (higher than the CarMax quote of course)  or Trading in and taking the Trade In Tax deduction. On your posted deal it should look like this.

MSRP 55,105 - 20% = sale price of new vehicle...... $44,084

Minus tradeIn value whatever that is lets just use   $15,000 (if you sell yourself you will need to take taxes into consideration in my State it would be $1,050 so i would have to get $16,050 or more in a private sell to make this work of course anything more than $16,050 sell price is more money in my pocket)

you simply write a check for the difference of....... $29,084 + any applicable taxes

I got 25% off last month on a Sierra SLT CC. Very happy with that discount. As a matter of fact, SLTs were cheaper than SLEs and Silvy LTs.
