2018 Suburban with the same issues. Sometimes it will work great but most times the vehicle won’t register the fob even when less than a foot away. Very frustrating. 
 

Anyone received resolution?  I’ve changed batteries and tried both remotes several times.

I have the same issue with a 2019 Suburban I just bought. Took it to the dealer around the corner from my office 1st thing this AM out of convenience. I showed them the bulletin, PIT5665.

This link was perfect.  I had the same issues with my 2018 Suburban and after bringing this bulletin to the dealer they replaced under warranty and now the range is awesome.   It’s just surprising tha

Just picked up a new 2019 LS, same issue.  Dealer agreed range was poor, and a loaner they let me use did NOT have this issue at all.

Said they'd 'open up a ticket' with GM on it.  

Remote FOB phone app works great.  But I don't want to pay 15-20 bucks a month for THAT service.  A 50+K truck should not have issues like this, every other vehicle I've had with RS worked flawlessly...

Same issue on my brand-spanking-new 2019 Tahoe.  Did you get your problem resolved by the replacement door unlock sensors???  Be good to be able to tell my 'service' department I found the fix.  They have, they say, opened a 'ticket' with GM...

Been having the same issue from purchase Found some BCM codes and cleared them. Range for key fob increased a lot. No more message saying key fob not found. One code was B3105 - deals with key fobs. Hmmmm. Codes have not returned.

Thanks Bob2C.  I do not have any error messages about the Fobs not being seen/programmed.  Just doesn't work very well.

I had an '05 Malibu and it would remote-start if I could SEE it....

 

GM is going to replace the 'antenna amplifier' on my '19 Tahoe.  Part is in, but 2 weeks to install appointment, was to be today, but they cancelled citing "no GM tech on duty this week"... Great service... NOT... 

I'll report on fixed/not fixed after the appointment.

What did you use to scan? I had a generic obd reader with the obd scan software from App Store and it wouldn’t read these codes. Only bluedriver did. I don’t know about the other wire ones. Just something to keep in mind.

They basically pretended to have never heard of the issue... BULLSHIT

 

They told me they were done just before lunch.

I picked it up and they said "no trouble found".. BULLSHIT... $46,000 worth of BULLSHIT.

 

I should have known better... A kindergarten class could provide a better source for mechanics than this place... They SUCK.. And I have had bad experiences with them in the past. 

 

I demonstrated the issue... the service writer ignored me and then after pushing the button like 20 times it worked and he looked at me and said.. see it's ok... try new batteries... I put in new batteries in and nothing, no improvement.

 

I am taking it to a different dealer.

 

Also I am going to video tape this issue. This is CRAP. My 2013 Sierra has remote start and it works from inside my building 50 yards away from it. (With aftermarket fobs no less)

 

Has anyone had a dealer replace the Antenna Amplifier like it says in the PIT? Did that fix it?

 

Luckily my neighbor's kid is the service writer at the next stealership I am going to and he may be a bit more receptive to actually DOING SOMETHING!!!

 

The part that REALLY sucks that if this does not get resolved it will DESTROY the resale value of the vehicle.

As stated above I used blue driver. I know some have mentioned that gm has a bulletin out in using blue driver because it over loads the canbus module but I was experiencing the same issue. I had the blue driver do a deep scan and it pulled several body codes and one u code I believe. I cleared them all and my remote works fantastic based on my experience. I lived with the short key fob distance for several months and just kinda stumbled upon it.

This is "Blue Driver"... $99 from Amazon?

I have a lower end OBD II scan tool. I may try that first and see if it picks up anything.

Did you get have any lights on the dashboard before before you used the BlueDriver scan tool?

Yes it’s the blue driver from amazon. I had a generic one and used the OBD app and it did not pick up these codes. I had no lights on.

Yes once I cleared those codes my remote works like 200 ft away and from my office through the window I can start the car. Before I could not which made me pissed because my Kia would start from the same spot.

At least your dealer is going to do something. The one around the corner from my office said "no issue found" and when I wrote them a letter saying the problem was still there and being a little bitchy about it the service manager called me and told me (in so many words) to F off and he would not look at my Suburban again... This is the single WORST GM dealership I have ever run across.. Bob Jeannotte;'s in Plymouth Michigan. This is not the 1st service issue I have had with them. It's the 3rd.

 

Who is your dealer and where? I am going to take it to one closer to my house...

What I don’t get is why the dealer don’t acknowledge these codes and clear them. They have the correct tools that are designed for these vehicles and I can find it with a $99 tool, clear them and my problem is solved. Crazy

They don't take the time to check them.. or most don't... They won't do ANYTHING unless (1) GM says it's a real fix with a TSB and/or (2) They are actually one of those 1 out of 100 stealerships that actually cares bout their customers and has the " I would rather make $5 from you 3 times than $10 once" attitudes.

      There are probably a few threads talking about fuel mileage but this one seemed to fit the stats I have seen based on my typical local driven route but with different outcomes based on different seasons/temperatures. I have a few hundred pounds of items that consistently ride on the truck at all times such as a bak flip cover, rubber bed mat, tools and extra fuel so I would be something over 8100 lb without me in the truck. All these examples are based on a 100 mile round trip to a town plus running around town so maybe 110 to 120 miles in total for a trip. Using regular fuel and I assume it always has some ethanol in it but don't know the percentage they blend in. Also speed wise I am going at 62 mph and non aggressive driving although less speed yet if its crappy winter condition roads. I am going by an initial reset of the computer generated fuel use numbers averaged over a couple of thousand miles or so for each weather/season so they may be more optimistic then actual hand calculated numbers. Basically this is painting a picture of doing the same drive but seasonal conditions and temperature being the major variable to the end result. Oh and although I am in Alberta Canada, I am converting it to miles per US gallon so there is no confusion.    So winter time it gets cold here, no real surprise there and the roads can be clear at times but also often have packed rough snow or are are driving through loose snow ( they do a poor job of plowing the highways ) and yes this includes the extra idle engine time due to trying not to freeze ones butt off. 12.7 mpg is what I was getting during the winter months on average.    Then during the spring when it was around the freezing point and the highways are clear of snow, I was getting around 14.25 mpg.   Summer time, I have been getting around 15.15 on average but certainly some of the trips showed quite a bit better fuel mileage, so much depended on how much or little I had driven around town and number of engine restarts after sitting for a while at each location. But stating a best fuel mileage trip to town pretending that is what the truck gets on average is fooling ones self for sure !.      As I said in a different post, I had driven a 645 mile trip over a couple of days stint to a different destination then these other daily to town examples above, and was done during the summer with nice weather and not bucking a head wind, also keeping at 62 mph and its a rolling landscape type highway drive ( this isn't southern Alberta or Saskatchewan flat lands ) Hand calculated fuel mileage in this case though and it came out to 17.65
