I took mine through the car wash today to get all the nasty road salt off. Checked the rear window, so far so good after using the permatex flowable silicone in the leak the tech found.

Gotta love getting a $15k crap box in exchange for your $60k truck.

Mine is finally going to go through the lemon law process.
Leased March 2019

-First leak April 2019 (sealed per TSB).
- leaked immediately after being sealed.
- Second time to dealer new window installed, lasted 8 months until it leaked again.
- Then it was sealed per TSB.
- leaked shortly after being sealed again.
- Second new window installed. Didn’t leak for a couple months.
- Last night it rain very lightly. I decided I’d check because it won’t rain much the rest of the winter (Live in MN). I also heard the light rain was worse for leaking. Well it had a leak.. not huge but it also barely rained.

I am so frustrated that GM hasn’t fixed this issue and will be contacting my attorney who already has already started the lemon law process.

Between the window leaks and needing a new headliner because of the leaks it’s been in the shop for over 50 days total! 4 failed repair attempts.

Well, looks like I'm moving on from the leaking window club.  I have a 2019 Silverado 1500 4x4 that originally started leaking 2 months after I bought the truck.  Was told it was fixed, but 11 months later, started leaking again.  Last week, took it into the dealership for repair and they gave me a 2020 Silverado 1500 for a loaner.  Loved the loaner so I decided to buy it.  It has a solid back window so no more leaks (fingers crossed).  Good luck to the rest of you as I hope that Chevy does the right thing and finally comes out with a permanent fix for the windows.

When mine was in last week they gave me the clown car as well. Had it for 2 days. I felt like Magilla Gorilla driving that little roller skate.

That's my plan. I gave them 1 shot at fixing it. When it leaks again I'm going to swap the slider for the solid window. When I picked up my truck I told the service manager that and he looked at me like I was crazy. I love my truck and have no intention of letting the stupid sliding window ruin my ownership experience. To me it's worth the money to pay for the window swap and be done with it.

I like this plan. I honestly don’t care about the sliding window.

If I had the choice to eliminate the slider when I ordered my truck I would have. Sucks they force you to get it by bundling the slider with the other options you want.

I actually don't like the slider. It has too much stuff in the view. And that tiny opening is useless. So if mine leaks it will be replaced with a solid window. I didn't want the slider anyway. But my OCD will drive me crazy having a non functioning switch up there.

I think they make you get it on any package that has a sunroof so they don't need to make a different panel for the controls. I will check and see if there is a panel that has everything but the rear window is I put a solid window in. But I doubt it since mine has a sunroof and garage door opener. There is not likely a package that has those and no slider. I still think that is why they don't give you that choice.

Sunroof comes optional on the SLT Convenience Package which includes the sliding window. The entry level SLT has a solid window but can’t come with the sunroof separate. I tried when I ordered my truck to get the solid. When I get the truck I’m putting the solid window in from the start. I’m not even going to play around with the slider.

I’ve been following this thread for a while now and I believe it was first mentioned by another member, but you can order an AT4 with a solid window but the only package you can add which is very minimal is driver alert 1. When you get to the accessories tab you can what looks to be universal remote for your garage door(s). I would’ve really like some of the other options especially the Bose speaker system but oh well. I believe you can on an SLT too but you can’t get front bucket seats if I remember correctly.

    • I'm tangentially aware of what Harley used to be, back in my riding days, although I was into Italian sport bikes. Ducati seems to have gone the other way; still very expensive, but they've made a large subset of their bikes a lot more reliable and accessible, and they've diversified their lineup to include other riding sports too. IMO, a good example of where greed and growth might have also been beneficial to the consumer.   Although GM is charging a relative premium for its most popular pickups, I find that there are some excellent value propositions in its lineup as well.   The Colorado still strikes me as the most attractive midsize on the market, and also the most reasonably priced given capability and features. There's a part of me that wishes I would have bought one instead of my Silverado.   The Equinox ...I must be getting old. The ICE equinox is a great design IMO. Probably because it reminds me visually of an actual SUV aka an S Blazer. Underneath it's nothing even remotely close, but it LOOKS good. It's got all the modern features plus some at a very reasonable price. If I had to run out and buy myself a daily commuter to do everything except tow, an Equinox would be on my list.   It does bug me that mid-tier 1500's reach into the 50-60k range, and Tahoes and Burbs are even more expensive. Less than 10 years ago, dealers were sitting on rows of Tahoe LS and LT's for low 40's. You could even still find Tahoes with a front bench, still!
    • Big oil is raking in billions from the Iran war. Can it avoid Trump’s fury?   Remember I said Big Oil is 'Vertically Integrated"?   Even as they no longer own the majority of the "Pump" they still own the "Well". Crude price upward pressure does not translate into that same pressure on production. Pumping cost remain unaffected and the gap is pure profit. Even after subtraction of a minor, comparatively, lower amount from supposed, but not always, realized refining volume. Consumers hate war, Big Oil, not so much.
    • We live in a world where the average person expects more. People say wages and our needs are farther apart. My first new home had 3 bedrooms and one bedroom. My first car and truck had what would be considered a stripped or work vehicle. In my neighborhood back then there were more homes like that and cars too. Middle managers and second home buyers worked their way up to the fancy houses and cars. Car loans were 3 years. GM had different models of cars for different income levels. The cars were pretty much the same size if you wanted a big vehicle. The nameplate designated the opulence. Chevy, Pontiac, Buick, Oldsmobile and Cadillac.  To be fair some of the cost is government mandated. We can’t blame them for giving us what people will pay for. Careful advertising steering people towards more profitable SUVs and trucks. As I learned recently a minivan is a cheaper more efficient form of transportation. Certainly easier to live with. Somebody realized the profit margin wasn’t as big and gave it a soccer mom label. So it lost its coolness. They’re making it the masses are buying it. You hit your hand with a hammer you can’t blame the hammer.
    • Hi All, I’m In need of advice regarding a scan result on my 2023 Silverado HD.  The Sensor Supply voltage relay states ON But…. the following 3 tests show Malfunction. Sensor supply voltage relay control circuit HIGH voltage Test status- Malfunction Sensor supply voltage relay control circuit LOW voltage Test status- Malfunction Sensor supply voltage relay control circuit OPEN test status - Malfunction. No DTC codes are stored. No DIC Lights. Remote Key Fob has been giving a few issues, namely Vehicle will not respond to an Open/Lock command from the key fob. New batteries installed to FOB made no difference, plus on one occasion recently the vehicle unlocked using the Fob, the vehicle started normally via the push button, then a random warning came up on the DIC stating the Remote Key was not found, all this while the key was located next to the central cup holders. Does anyone have any input or advice regarding this scenario? TIA
