Yeah this is their 3rd time cleaning it...I just need to get it in a good enough state to get rid of it at this point. The window is going to leak again...

You seriously need to find a different dealer to bring your truck to. No way in hell would I find that even close to acceptable!!!

I hear you, this whole thing is a joke. I am disgusted with the dealer and GM. Brand new trucks are getting ruined by butterfingered mechanics and GM has no fix. I was told to take it one step at a time to get it fixed and that every vehicle is the different, when I brought up the history of this forum she dismissed it. Here we are with the same problems that everyone else has had without much help...

A new headliner for your truck is a must have, period. Sealing the entire gap between glass and cab should, in my mind, stop any water from finding a way in. Remember, you can bring your truck to ANY GM truck dealer. I have found a HUGE difference in service between dealers. Some are great. Some should not be allowed to go anywhere near a new vehicle. (I used to work at a dealership many years ago, saw it first hand even then.)

Yeah I know I was a Service manager at a dealership so I get it but GM is not much of a help either. I will regroup Monday with Customer Care. I'm trying to keep my cool because like I said this is ridiculous to even consider that seam sealer is the fix for this...GM should have had a good replacement window 2 years ago, this is unacceptable at this point.

But when it dose it usually rains hard.

Yesterday wasn't hard rain.

I wash my truck every 2 weeks at a do it yourself carwash with high and low pressure water sprayers. I am looking for the leak after each carwash. Nothing so far. I'll keep everybody updated.

If I end up developing this problem, and GM tries screwing me like a prostitute desperate for a quick $20, then I'm going to move on. GM wanted to fuss about Ram taking their #2 spot last year. Looking at how they've handled things from 2007+ with V8 engines crapping out before 100k miles, cracked dashboards, and problematic 8-speed trans, they better start getting use to the view as 4th place. I'll switch to Ram or Toyota. This is GM's last shot in my household, and I get the impression a lot of people are feeling the same way. It's not enough for them to take care of me, but how they take care of everybody in general. If they're willing to screw everybody, then they're willing to screw me, too.

The problem for Gm is old farts like my father and I are dying off and taking our GM loyalty with us. He has a small construction company and owns about 20 Gm trucks. Never gets rid of any of them, the oldest is  an 88’ 3500 4x4 with 454. Still going! I have 5 myself. He just bought 2 new 3500 4x4 service body trucks yesterday. Gotta spend it or give it to the tax man!

These dealer horror stories are the reason I hesitate to have my dealer even touch it. I bought the truck used, and am still under the factory 3/36 warranty. Beyond the small leaks on either side of the track, the truck is pristine. I’m waiting on the needle tip glue gun I ordered, and warmer weather to fill the gap between the cab and glass. As a temporary solution I bought two different diameters of the Trim Lok cord. I’m going to try and push it into the gap all the way across the top of the window.

Do you find the gap between the spoiler and cab even across the whole length?   I find the gap is a bit wider on the passenger side.

If (when) my new truck leaks my plan is to fill the gap with 3m 5200. We use it in the marine trade to seal bolts and small holes under the waterline. It works really, really well. You can bolt an outboard to a boat, seal the bolts with 5200, take the bolts out and go for a ride. Strong stuff. And it comes in black.

Add me to the leak club. Sent me home in a Buick Enclave. They’ll have my 2020 Denali til next week. Calling in a window guy to fix it. So far in 2000 miles my truck has now been in the dealer twice. Got a check engine light at 700 miles and now this. Not to mention the Bluetooth turning my phone volume down with no known fix, thinking I should have gone with a Ram or F150. Always had GM but I don’t know anymore.

There is a know fix for the bluetooth volume on your phone -

Go to settings on your phone. Go to sounds and haptics.  Then go to ringer and alerts. Turn OFF the "change with buttons" slider thing.

Problem solved.

Well thank you very much! Had no idea. Dealer had no idea. I’ll do it when I get it back, hopefully leak free.

I need to take a closer look at it. I bought the .25 and .38 closed cell cord. I’ll probably cut a short length of each and see which one fits the tightest, then do the whole thing. I have 25’ of each.

Got an Encore too. My wife's 2015 Camry drives better and it's an LE.
They had a window guy come in and replace a molding and said they didn't see any cracking. We will see next week after I soak the truck
