Hi all,

I just bought a new truck but the tires were shot. I looked at the tires and they are 35x12.5x18 with the stock GM rims.

I called Discount Tire and they said they won't put these tires on these rims... What gives? Did the previous owner put the wrong tires on these rims? Is it unsafe?

Thank you,

Scott

They won’t put them on there because they are to large and wide for the factory width wheel. Your putting a 12.5 wide tire on a most-likely 7.5 wide wheel. Most places won’t put a 12.5 wide wheel on anything narrower than possibly 9 or 10 wide.
