I believe I might have figured out a work around on this. I disabled the "Change with Buttons" option on the iPhone under Settings-Sounds & Haptics and tested it and the ringer volume remained where I had set it.

Does this prevent the ringer volume be being decreased if you need to go to a meeting and push the side button to lower the volume?

Yes, so you could only change the ringer volume in Settings-Sounds and change the slider volume there.
Or if you’re in a meeting the vibrate switch would still turn off the ringer sound.

What iphone do you have? Maybe it's fixed on the newer versions.

It’s not. We’ve all tried that.

My 2019 has this issue. Even with the new v807 software they just rolled out.

However, when I had a 2020 LT loaner, I had no issues with my phone connecting, syncing contacts, volume, etc. Very weird.

I have same issue with 2019 GMC Sierra, ringtone iPhone XR lowers to nothing, have turned off change volume with buttons and issue persists.  Spent 1 1/2 hr with iPhone support and narrowed it down to settings within infotainment on GMC, got no such support from GMC.  Google indicates several with issue.

I wondering if this is just a issue with iOS or does Android have the same problem?
Tom
After reading through, it didn't look like anyone responded to you. I have Android and experience the same issues described by my Apple brethren with volume being adjusted on the phone through truck changes and notifications not coming through the phone. Scouring the internet didn't yield a fix either. Seems we are in a waiting cycle.

Finally had time to play with the phone and truck today. Mine seems to work fine! It does lower the volume on the phone while connected either by Bluetooth or the cable and in apple play. However once I disconnect it goes back to full volume.

Iphone X, latest updates and in settings I have the change ringer with side buttons off, This is on a 2020 AT4 with the latest updates also. Not sure this will help anyone but my experience.

The technology on the my 20 is so much different than my 18 that I just traded in.  The volume on the phone goes down and stays down after exiting truck which has caused me to miss many business calls! (Irritating)  It no longer reads my text messages to me while driving, instead have to look at phone unless of course I want to plug in for carplay.  Very dangerous looking at phone for text messages.  Wish I had known some of these things prior to buying, might have considered a different brand.  If anyone has a fix for these things please advise.  Thanks

I feel your pain about the text messages. GM removed that function with the 2020 models. Huge step backwards. I’ve called GM to complain but obviously did no good. Disappointing, especially since it’s as simple as a software update.

I experienced same issue of volume going down and staying down even after leaving the vehicle. Was missing phone calls and text messages. I followed the advice given in TSB # 19NA270 and no longer have this issue after turning off the "change with buttons" setting. I have an iphone xs with ios 13.3 and a newly purchased 2020 GMC Sierra. I too am very disappointed with GM for removing the text message feature from their infotainment system as was on my 2017 Sierra. With Apple car play plugged in one can get messages but it is ridiculous to be required to plug a phone in so one can receive text messages. And why GM still requires a cord for car play in 2020 is beyond belief. The phones have supported wireless car play for quite some time as well as many car manufactures. GM is way behind with their infotainment technology and needs to update their systems ASAP.

My earlier post regarding the volume being turned down on my Iphone after connecting with the infotainment system in my 2020 Sierra is no longer valid. The fix I employed from TSB # 19NA270  worked until my system updated to v148. Neither work around mentioned in the bulletin now fixes the problem. If anyone has found a solution, please post.

The way I see it GM is manipulating MY IPhone not their IPhone. GM through their internal app intentionally lowers my phone volume when I push the ignition switch to turn on the motor of the truck but when truck is turns off the app doesn't increase the volume back to its original setting and its caused me to miss several important calls.

If GM doesn't fix this issue and eliminate this function I'll be forced to execute a lawsuit against GM

    • Because single shot injectors are ancient and multi hole injectors provide smoother running engines and sharper throttle response due to the fuel being atomized better..the best lead I have is a 24lb blue top injector almost everything matches up but the injector will put out about 26lb/hr which is just outside the gm threshold.figured id ask here to see if there was an absolute answer
    • Why is my question?   Any change in injectors requires a tune. Unless you are going back with the OEM part number or a newer part number of that same injector.   Any size difference or type difference like the EV6 style injectors all have different injector data for them. And there is no EV6 injector that matches the factory 25 lb/hr size that your truck comes with. I've been messing with these trucks and tuning them for a long time and what you trying to do doesn't exactly make sense to me.
    • My 6.6 gas lt8 had lifter noise with 28000 miles bought new 2026 and while driven to dealer it threw #1 rod bearing “HD my ass” good luck with yours i hope it don’t turn a rod bearing!
    • When a condition becomes a business model.    https://www.gm-trucks.com/gm-truck-suv-incentives-pricing-2026/   Zane posted this in "Latest Articles".    The honest bottom line   Truck buyers have spent three years assuming this is a temporary condition that will break once inventories normalize. GM just presented it to investors as a durable strategy, on a chart, as evidence of good management.   Inventory did normalize. GM is at 511,000 units and squarely inside its own 50 to 60 day target. The discounts still did not come back, because the low incentive number is the goal rather than a symptom of shortage.   Plan your purchase around that reality instead of waiting for it to change. Follow our ongoing GM News coverage for pricing and incentive changes as the next-generation trucks land.
    • Thought it was raining this morning when we woke. Nope. Dew point was over 80 F and humidity 98%. Zero visibility distance. Everything was 'sweating'. I've seen rain come out of clouds but never out of Pepper or the tree trunks.    Wicked storms just missed us sliding off to the east but by blocks. Heat index about 110 F with air temp in the 90's.    This is  our third wave this month of multiple days of this type of weather. And yet the grass is going dormant and the ground is cracking this side of the street and water up the the hood opposite. Just weird stuff going on.
